Hello :)

He rediscovered a love of exercise. I'm shredding every morning, but want to add something to my evenings.

WIBU to do something on top of the shred? I'm thinking another Jillian Michaels or maybe some Pilates.

StellarforStar · 01/08/2012 23:24

YANBU, I would think Pilates or Yoga might be a nice balance out.

pjmama · 01/08/2012 23:25

If you exercise, does that mean you're allowed to eat more cake? Hmm

squeakytoy · 01/08/2012 23:25

"WIBU to do something on top of the shred?"

What? like collapse??? Grin

TheInvisiblePoster · 01/08/2012 23:26

I'm shredding too! did it this morning and wanted to do it again tonight but my knee's playing up so I did some stretches and crunches.

Yanbu at all:)

thenightsky · 01/08/2012 23:26

I go running. I prefer to be outdoors, it feels less sweaty and claustrophobic somehow.

I loved the workout I got from the Shred, but having to do indoors is what put me off.

serotoninbutterfly · 01/08/2012 23:27

Shred is 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels Grin tis brill and quick and hurts like buggery.

I was worried there might be some random negative implications of working out too much!

I think Pilates would be good cos it's aimed at core stability and that's my main target area Grin

So, following that then, what Pilates workouts are good?

Arf at 'what is exercise'

According to myfitnesspal, more cake is allowed Grin

I don't mean straight after - I'm not a weirdo Wink

Does this shred thing make you un fat?

squeakytoy · 01/08/2012 23:31

MrsR, the Shred is very good.. it kills you for the first few days.. you ache so much that going to the toilet is agony.. but it does burn off the flab..

OP, swimming would probably be good as not too much strain on already tired muscles..

serotoninbutterfly · 01/08/2012 23:31

Yes, apparently so. According to my dodgy scales, I have lost 5lbs since Friday which was the first day of shredding Grin

Squeaky - swimming = no cos I'm a flabby lady and don't want to be an advert against cake eating Grin

Maybe when I am buff like Natalie I will don a bikini and dive in Grin

serotoninbutterfly · 02/08/2012 07:18

So, just shredded. Think I might try some Pilates this afternoon. Grin

I think its sounds like a great plan.
I currently go to the gym 5 days. I also swim 2 days, do 2 zumba classes and 2 days a week I have a session with a personal trainer after my usual gym routine.
I am not extremely skinny or fit, but I am getting there. I am attempting to be though.
I think Pilates sound like a good combination with the shred and will help you develope the muscle and strength.

serotoninbutterfly · 02/08/2012 07:37

Thank you Smile

What Pilates workout is good? I need to do it at home (no money or time away from DS) so looking for a DVD really.

I officially weigh in tomorrow for this, so I am hoping to see an inch reduction as well as some actual weight loss.
