Daily Mail - going too far?

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 13:20

is the Daily Mail being particularly negative about the Olympics?

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:21

I wouldn't have a clue as I don't read it.

What do you think?

Proudnscary · 01/08/2012 13:22

What's this, an A Level media studies question?

MarthasHarbour · 01/08/2012 13:22

in order to answer that question i would have to read the DM Shock

fluffiphlox · 01/08/2012 13:23

Who cares? I don't buy it.

FuckityFuckFuck · 01/08/2012 13:24

Is the Daily Fail ever positve about anything?

Ithinkitsjustme · 01/08/2012 13:24

Same as everyone else, - don't read it, so I've got no idea. Loving the Olympics though!

WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:24

I don't buy it and I don't add to its popularity/financial gain by reading it online either.

In fact, if it wasn't for MN I would never even remember it existed.

Kayano · 01/08/2012 13:25

No idea what you are on about

Petsinmyolympicpudenda · 01/08/2012 13:25

They are negative about everything

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 13:29

I think even by its own standards of hatefulness it is reaching new depths - you cant say its reporting is representative of reality on normal days but I just wondered why they are taking such a shitty view of an event which is being widely enjoyed

OP posts:
DuelingFanjo · 01/08/2012 13:29

no.

mumto2andnomore · 01/08/2012 13:31

Not read it but my mum is very negative about the Olympics and she reads it !

puds11 · 01/08/2012 13:33

The daily mail is a pile of shit and pretty much always goes to far with everything as it is written by dimwitted fools!!!!

WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:34

But why do you read a paper that has such 'standards of hatefulness', OP? Confused

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less what anyone chooses to read but I don't get why anyone would choose to read a newspaper that they describe in such a way.

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 13:38

I dont normally - i just looked on line yesterday and was surprised - just wanted to know what others thought! I see I am not alone!

OP posts:
Longtalljosie · 01/08/2012 13:39

Don't forget the DM hates the BBC so all that stuff about "people are getting cross at having to change the channel" nonsense is the sound of a barrel being scraped...

WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:40

So really they might have just reported negatively yesterday but not since the games started?

I don't know

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 13:42

I think their listed of hated subjects are well known - we could all write that list!

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:44

I could only write it because of the MN readers who deny reading it but always know everything about its contents Grin

Scuttlebutter · 01/08/2012 13:47

The Daily Mail is a vile, hateful, evil publication. I firmly believe that it is harmful to anyone who reads it regularly - no good can come of having such a constant hosing of small minded, vindictive, petty, stupid twaddle being aimed at its readers.

I don't read it myself, and am heartily fed up Angry with people linking to their awful website, which in turn drives more people there, thus helping to keep it in business. If you really dislike this paper, then please STOP posting links to it. I have no wish to have any second of my remaining time on earth contaminated by those loons Liz jones or Samantha fucking Brick.

WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:49

Exactly Scuttle

The amount of people who say, "Oh I don't actually buy it, I just read it online for the Showbiz gossip", make me laugh.

Do they not realise they're helping to raise just as much revenue for the paper as they would if they got off their bums and bought it?

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 13:52

Worra - I dont think manypeople who look online realise that. Sneaking on line looking without public scrutiny. Like all the women on my train reading 50 shades on a kindle!

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 01/08/2012 13:56

It makes me wonder how they think the online edition is financed?

alli1968 · 01/08/2012 14:00

you have hit the nail on the head - they dont think!

So keen to see Kates Nudes it passes them by!

OP posts:
FeakAndTheWeebleWorm · 01/08/2012 14:15

OP you've said yourself you looked at it online yesterday. Then you started a thread on MN about it. Now you're slagging off people who read it and start threads about it which in turn directs people to the website which contributes to its revenue.

I am Confused as to what exactly your point in starting this thread was, since you don't seem to have much time for anyone who does actually read it?
