they should do it with aplomb Grin

Not that we're bad at swearing here, you understand - I love words like twunt and wankbadger. In fact, that whole swear+woodland creature formula is brilliant. Its just that we've been rewatching Firefly and I love the way all of the swearing is done in Chinese.

Go se
go niang yang de

etc.

I think that using foreign swear words will take things to a whole new level, after all, foreign words are classy and we have a reputation for something or other (can't remember what).

To help people decide which swears to include in the Mumsnet lexicon, if we should go with swears from one language or mix and match, or even if our own swears are so good we don't need to look at furrin ones, I include a handy link www.youswear.com/

So aibu?

usualsuspect · 31/07/2012 12:27

I'm not clever enough to swear in furrin.

DontEatTheVolesKids · 31/07/2012 12:30

I had a German workmate who used to mutter Scheisse under her breath a lot. Can't believe how long it took me to work that one out.

TheRhubarb · 31/07/2012 12:30

Vous connard de merde
Ferme votre bouche salope

Arnie and 'Forget you'. Dp still uses that when we need to swear in front of the kids.

Do you really want to suck the joy out of swearing? Are we going to have competitive pedantic swearing now?
YABU.

garlicnutter · 31/07/2012 12:56

YABU, ezgetek.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 31/07/2012 12:59

Haha I read the title and clicked on expecting a riot of "off you fucks if you don't like its"

garlicnutter · 31/07/2012 13:00

Or, Ferret, as we (apparently) say in Tunisia, "baranek" Grin

LemonEmmaPippedAtThePost · 31/07/2012 13:02

Leck mich am Arsch - or something like that. Sourced from my Dad's German phrase book when I was 15. I've been waiting nearly 30 years for a chance to use that one!

garlicnutter · 31/07/2012 13:02

Found my favourite - for now: Ime munaa, runkkari. I'm sure it's liberally used on Finnish Mumsnet.

nickelbarapasaurus · 31/07/2012 13:04

fick mich dorf

(my uni friend used to say this with such emphasis on the word "dorf" Grin)

nickelbarapasaurus · 31/07/2012 13:05

Edgar - let's try it...
