I have a job it's about 40mins commute each way .

A job came up near home, less than 10 mins away, ideal as have 2 DC so school and nursery would be easier.

Interview was tomorrow - phone call today to say that they had their funding cut and no longer able to offer that position. But may be advertising again but at a lower grade.

It's so annoying need a hug :(

"What's for you won't go by you" As my old Mum used to say Sad

Yeah it bugged the crap out of me too....

A stupid saying, but who knows it might be right in your case?

Oh, that's rotten.

But I guess at least they were able to tell you why.

I can empathise OP.

I am meant to be starting training for a new role today [fully paid but am self employed through an agency so not an employee of the organisation itself]

Really looking forward to this role - good pay, the hours suited, flexibility around childcare, close to home...

However last night DS2 became unwell with chesty fluey thing. Couldn't leave him with childminder today so had to stay home with him. Missed first day of training. Training very important and non-negotiable. So now have missed out on this role Sad And I have extra childcare booked for five weeks as well!
