To want an AIBU button?

I was going to post this in site stuff but don't know how much traffic it gets.

I have been reading a few AIBU threads recently where the poster asks the question, then gets quite defensive when they don't get the response they expected.

They then refuse to accept the majority opinion and insist that they ANBU at all.

So, how about a YES/NO button that posters can click on when they reply and MNHQ can keep a running total of the results so far alongside the threads. A bit like 87% of posters think YES you are being unreasonable?

I'd like that!

Damn. I thought you had invented some amazing real life gadget that enabled me to hit YABU at my dh, dcs, bad drivers, grumpy shop people etc at any time.

But yes, soem sort of tracker bar / results graph, alongside actual text, would be great.

I have said about a poll on the side for AIBU before so everyone knows what the outcome is.

Each poster would only be able to have one vote though. And no namechanging for multiple votes.

Like the This Morning worm thingy they have.

That would be great but then again I still think those that don't agree still won't agree and they'll still spit their dummies out.

Hmm. Sometimes you change your mind during the course of the thread when new 'evidence' comes to light....

Perhaps it should be possible to change your vote. So you only get one vote but you can change it if you want?

Yes - then there could be all manner of associated stats generated from the results based on when and how the 'mood changed'. I love a bit of data analysis, me.

Everyone forgets about the lurkers! Possibly the silent majority. This would give them a voice. Great idea.

Although I do think that the graph should possible reflect the % of lurkers too.
