To Think This is a Bit of a Cheek? - Warning Trivial

In my office, standard issue company mugs are provided for use and are the cleaners empty/load/unload them from the dishwasher as part of their duties. People also use their own mugs which the cleaners also deal with.

I wash my own mug because I am bit precious about my stuff being misappropriated, and I just went to do this and someone has left their dirty lunch bowl and fork with their remains of their salad on the sink, presumably to be dealt with by the cleaners. It is highly unlikely they are coming back to wash it themselves because I work later than everyone else, so they have all finished.

AIBU to think that's a bit cheeky? The cleaners are not our servants and are not here to wait on us hand and foot.

That happens in our staff room all the time

I take the view that as long as I do my bit, my conscience is clear

YABU.

yanbu - dirty sods should clean up after themselves.

I blame the parents

YANBU - our office has skeleton staff on a weekend and no cleaners - by monday morning the kitchen is revolting. I'm sure the cleaner really wants to clean dishes someone's left from friday night.

It is very cheeky. Sime people are just bloody lazy snd expect other people to clean up after them.

In our office we have to do our own washing up and there are spoons etc for communal use by those having hot drinks. They get left until they could practically walk off on their own (grim) and then usually one of the three female staff (mainly male office, about 15 blokes) ends up buckling and goes to wash the disgusting things. It's makes me Angry.

It really shocks me how lazy people are. At work cups and bowls are left dumped in the sink and we have a dishwasher, they are too lazy to put their dirty cups in there.

samandi · 27/07/2012 18:41

YADNBU. It's a very lazy, selfish and scummy attitude.

iklboo · 27/07/2012 18:48

YANBU. A colleague of mine made herself a coffee in one of our meeting rooms. When we were finished she started to walk out, leaving the mug on the table. I called after her to remind her to wash it out. 'But it's not my mug' she said. She couldn't understand why I was Shock.

My work kitchen is a disgrace with lazy swines leaving dishes in the sink, on the work tops and expecting others to clean up after them. I am always tempted chuck everything in the bin rather than clean up after them
