to empty the paddling pool. Have bought a fab, easy put up, 8ft pool for the garden. Kids have had masses of fun in it over the last week, but we are going out tomorrow and won't be able to use it until next week, depending on the weather. In the past we have left paddling pools out and wrecked them so I have decided that it would be a good idea to put it away for now and start again when the weather looks like it will be good for a while longer and we will be around to enjoy it. How the bloody hell are you supposed to get the water out? Yes, there is a very nice plug to pull, but given that I don't want to swamp my garden or flood my house how am I supposed top get the water to the drain? Easy up, yes, but easy down...... - I don't think so!

I've always just gone with turning the garden into a temporary swamp, which dc and ddog seem to enjoy as much as the paddling pool.

YANBU though. Sorry I can't actually help!

JumpingThroughHoops · 26/07/2012 16:27

just pull the plug out - it will all seep in to the garden within 20 mins.

McHappyPants2012 · 26/07/2012 16:32

I put my foot on the side and flood the garden, the grass will need a good water. I also put some in a watercan to do other watering

Ithinkitsjustme · 26/07/2012 16:35

It's not on grass though Sad, it will flood into the concrete step around the house.

It's a hot day, pull the plug, it will sink in.

If you have the time, fill up a watering can a couple of times from it and spread the water round different parts of your garden, then it won't be as much on a small space.

DontmindifIdo · 26/07/2012 16:37

oh, just seen you aren't on grass, ok, then watering can to take the bulk of it, then just tip out.

could get a hose and siphon it out to somewhere else, Bit disgusting if you manage to suck to hard (ooer missus) and get a mouthfull of water. Grin

yep water and plants and let the rest out.

i wouldn't worry about letting it out on concrete though. most will run off and the rest will dry in the sun

Willyoudothefandango · 26/07/2012 16:56

Create a siphon with a piece of hose. Submerge both ends to get the air out, make sure one end stays submerged and seal the other with your hand/hose attachment. Take other end out and place it near your drain. The water should then flow out when uncovered as long as it is lower than the first end

whatsapussycatdoll · 26/07/2012 17:02

better than my sucking idea willy forgot you could do it that way.

Willyoudothefandango · 26/07/2012 17:04
