I'm starting a mum blog that's quite interactive. Lots of feedback wanted from mums etc. What do you all think of The Mums Club? Cringey or catchy?

Sounds fine Smile

RaisinDEtre · 23/07/2012 12:38

There's already a MumsClub forum, might not want to be confused with them/they might not like you using ''their'' name/domain isshooes

liketochat1 · 23/07/2012 12:39

I'd put an apostrophe in. Otherwise it's ok. I mean we know who the target audience is!

Isthisnamerubbish · 23/07/2012 12:45

I looked into the apostrophe thing but the consensus seems that cos it's lots of mums rather than one mum owning the club to go without. Or have I got that totally, totally wrong?! Could you put an apostrophe in a URL?

Surprisingly I managed to get 'The Mums Club' domain and a blog - did search prior too for similar ones but didn't come across MumsClub forum. Thanks! Will look into it.

Ooh yes I had come across MumsClub - but it's for mums in business. Does it matter so much if my blog/website is totally different?

It's a bit boring and imaginative, but there'd be no confusion about what it was for.

MintyMojito · 23/07/2012 12:49

*unimaginative

(Sorry)

Isthisnamerubbish · 23/07/2012 12:51

I know Minty, I agree. I've had personal blogs before with catchier names but as I hope for this to be a bit more interactive and less about 'me' I thought it might suit? What d'ya reckon?

OP posts:
MintyMojito · 23/07/2012 12:55

I guess to appeal to a wider audience it does need to be simple, to allow us lot to find it easily and know what it's for.

No suggestions, I am terrible at stuff like that. Good luck with your venture Smile

Isthisnamerubbish · 23/07/2012 12:57

Thanks Minty. Some inner thing is telling me it's naff!

I believe it would be Mums' Club like you would write Parents' Evening.

tethersend · 23/07/2012 13:14

I don't like it, sorry.

Mothership?

Isthisnamerubbish · 23/07/2012 15:22

Mothership - ooh that's a goodie.
