To be really pissed off?

I'm 30 weeks pregnant & live with my dad atm. My mum lives 4 hours away. She's got lots of stuff for the baby that I need to go & collect. I also want to see my family & my sister.
This is the problem my dad works full time and
has now got a week off and the plan was to drive up to see my mum for 3 days.
He didn't want me to drive it alone so I've been sat at home on maternity leave for 6 weeks bored as hell waiting to go. I've no problem driving myself, I'd prefer that.

But we're meant to go tommorow and he's just told me he's not going. I'll have to drive myself because he doesnt want to go for 3 days.
Fair enough but I'm bloody annoyed because I could have already gone!!!! AIBU to be annoyed?

Well why didn't you already go? You're an adult, no need to sit around for 6 weeks waiting for your dad. Confused

Pickles77 · 22/07/2012 10:25

I would have but he made such a big deal about wanting to come & see the family I waited Angry

How old are you? Why didn't you just go?

Pickles77 · 22/07/2012 12:46

22 I didn't go because he made such a bloody fuss about wanting to come. Angry

I would be pissed off too. I cant stand when people offer something and then dont see it through. Fair enough if you had asked him and he couldnt but since he was the one making the fuss its a bit shitty.

Just go in future. I was still driving up until DD was born but just short journeys. At 30 weeks just take regular breaks to stretch and you should be fine.

Are you a nervous driver? Is that why he was so adament for you not to go?

Pickles77 · 22/07/2012 13:18

Exactly my point- I like to have a plan you know?

Urn I'm quite a Angry driver Smile so will just be taking it steady, promise

Why have you been on maternity leave since 24 weeks pregnant?

Pickles77 · 22/07/2012 13:25

Long story. Ex dumped me, made me homeless, had a very physical job, very depressed, no family or friends in the area I was in. Finding things very very very tough Sad

yanbu to feel anoyed that your dad let you down. But I think yabu to have listened to him in the 1st place you are an adult and you decide when/where you drive, if he was so looking forward to coming he could have made the journy by himself. 3 days isn't much of a holiday when you could have been there for weeks!
