Sorry it's not an AIBU, posting for traffic as really worried. Has anyone else had this? It started last week, massive pain in the back of my head, vomiting, the lot. Went to hospital and had CT scan and lumbar puncture, all clear. Came home Sunday and gradually been improving, then had another attack today.

Embarassingly, it started both times during sex.

Any help or advice? It's agonising. Thanks.

Umm, bit of a personal question. But does it happen when you're about to orgasm?

I think it's pretty common. Well, not super common but one of those things that if you google you get a ton of other people really worried and then relieved when they discover other people have had the same thing.

Er, DH has this a couple of times. Totally random, come on out the blue and happened about 3 times. Then it just didn't happen again. very personal bit we found doggy style was less likely to trigger it missionary, maybe because of the motion? He also took painkillers before sex which helped the third time - it wasn't as bad then. Hth!

First time yes Ooga, today no. I've read up and looked at your wiki link thanks. I'm going to see GP on Monday as it's now happened twice. I'm taking morphine and codeine again (had stopped a couple of days ago) as it's the only thing that touches the pain. Actually thought it was a one off and I was fine!

Thanks HaveALittle - was thinking along the lines of painkillers beforehand. It does seem more prevalent in men from what I've read. But it's not happened to DH since?

Another odd thing is that when paramedics took my temp, it was very low - 34.5. BP was high, then took a nose dive to 80 something once in hospital. All very weird to me.

Just bumping, I know it's an obscure one, thanks anyone for looking

No it literally happened about 3 times over a couple of weeks then never again. He really did shout out in agony. Obviously not as severe as you - he didn't need to go to hospital - but still quite disturbing. Pleased to say it stopped quite as suddenly as it started!

BumpingFuglies · 20/07/2012 22:29

Really hope it's the same with me!
