To be a little bit grumpy...

...even though there were no other options?

We are visiting PIL this weekend, staying in a hotel, 200+ miles from home. DS1 has opted to stay at PIL's; DS2 is not quite 12 months, still BF'ed & therefore cannot be left.

This evening we went for a meal in the hotel restaurant with PIL, DC's, DH's uncle & cousin. DH, his uncle & cousin quickly get stuck into the beers and it becomes very clear that this is going to become a bit of a session for them. DS2 is very tired so I say I will take him back to room. DH has left his phone at PIL's so I'm on my own, in a hotel room in the dark so as not to disturb DS2 with the TV on so quiet I can barely hear it.

There were no other options than for me to take DS2 & it's DH's family. But I've not had a night out in 2 years. AIBU to be a little bit peeved, especially knowing DH will get hammered & has to drive us home tomorrow as I don't drive?

YANBU, even though as you said it made sense for you to take him back to the room, it is understandable that you would be a bit miffed.

Make sure you plan a night out for when you stop breastfeeding!

I wouldn't be that amused either. Sounds like an utterly boring evening.

At least you have mumsnet

You really need to have a night out soon.
