To ask the GP for a blood test?

I was put on anti-depressants due to PND by my GP 2 weeks ago and I have a follow-up appointment on Thursday, I was anaemic during and after pregnancy and I stopped taking my iron tablets months ago.

I have been feeling very weak, tired and sick for a while now and I would really like a blood test just to check that everything is okay, is it possible to request one or is this not possible?

It should be entirely possible. I'm sure most doctors would agree to it. Good luck. I hope you feel a little better soon.

you could start taking iron and some multi vits for a few weeks...sometimes depression can be quite physical too so lethargy and feeling off/sick is common with it too...
Ask about a blood test once you have given yourself more time with the anti-D's and iron and vits...maybe about a month before anti-D's start to work properly anyway....

YANBU. Sounds v sensible to ask for a blood test with those symptoms. Good luck.
