Nicking DC toys

I probably am BU here but I am totally fed up with my neighbour.
We live in a flat and share a communal garden and store my DC toy car down the ally way out of the way and DC plays on it regularly when we go outside at home.

Downstairs neighbour had visitors and let there DC play on it. This isn't the first time this has happend and I have found the car else where not where we store it DC saw out the window and got very upset that another child was playing on it.

Now I dont normally mind but I dont really speak to her and she knew it belonged to us yet she didn't come and knock on my door to ask me or DC whether it was ok.

I went and took the car an put it out the way.

I think if you don't want the toys to be played with by other children then you need to keep them shut away somewhere. These kids haven't really "nicked" it, as the car is still there; but someone else could easily come and take it.

Can you wrap some tarpaulin around it or something so it 'looks' out of bounds?

Justhadenough · 09/07/2012 22:20

I had the same problem in my first flat. Dh got some of that yellow tape thing with caution on it and tied it round our DDs toys. They didn't touch it then.

As WorraLiberty said. Making it look out of bounds

StrandedBear · 09/07/2012 22:23

Well they haven't nicked it have they? Another child had a turn on it and it was returned unbroken and in the same condition?

Tbh if you leave toys out in a communal garden they are fair game. Don't want it played with, store it properly. Why was your son upset to see someone else on it when he wasn't even outside?

you should probably teach your child about sharing. And remind yourself while you are at it.
