Mahoosive spider that just walked up my bare leg whilst I was sat on sofa?
I don't mind spiders but I have a real phobia of things with legs out of proportion to the rest of their body and it was one of the pea body monstrostaties with long legs.
Urrrghhh!!
Screamed rather loudly, am awaiting four squad cars pulling up on drive after neighbour probably thinks I have been murdered. Blush

YABU not to put a warning in your thread title.

wisecamel · 09/07/2012 12:31

YANBU they are my worst too. You are doing well to have stayed in the house. Perhaps the police will arrest it for you when they come.

Paiviaso · 09/07/2012 12:48

I would have been on the ceiling, YANBU.

Then I would have fetched my cats. My cats earn their keep by eating every insect/arachnid in the house.

OldGreyWiffleTest · 09/07/2012 12:52

I agree with endo - I don't even like reading the word s.....

Please, next time put a warning.

limitedperiodonly · 09/07/2012 13:08

see anything you like OP? Don't click if an arachophobe

cheekybarsteward · 09/07/2012 13:15

You are a very sick person limited, the one up my leg was carrying an egg so I am going to be finding more aren't I?
Just hope it didn't install the rest of the eggs in my pants!!! Shock

I love spiders.

cheekybarsteward · 09/07/2012 13:33

I don't mind spiders, just the unproportionate leg thing.
People on stilts are equally repulsive to me but they don't tend to crawl up my legs carrying their young Grin

Anyway, just had scalding hot shower and shaved legs to a nice non-gripping shiny finish.....

Spiders are great. My house has colonies of them and I welcome them all, even the very long-legged ones. People on stilts creep me out totally though.

cheekybarsteward · 09/07/2012 13:39

My worst is Daddy Long Legs, they seem to come straight at me Sad

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 09/07/2012 13:40

What's your view on ostriches op?

BigHairyFlowers · 09/07/2012 13:41

The spider was BU to attempt an ascent of your leg without seeking prior permission. Spiders are so rude. Someone should tell them, they have some intense entitlement issues. Bloody spiders.

limitedperiodonly · 09/07/2012 13:47

A brave maternal spider barsteward? I love her even more now.

I've created a whole back story where she was trying to save her babies from the flash floods but only had time to rescue one.

I hope she chose wisely and her spiderling looks after her in her old age.

Perhaps you'll see her again one day in the corner of your room at the care home, OP.

Try to sleep with your mouth shut.

limitedperiodonly · 09/07/2012 13:50

Ostriches are vicious bastards but they do have lovely eyelashes holybatman.

And you can make nice handbags out of them. Ostrich steaks aren't quite so successful IME

cheekybarsteward · 09/07/2012 13:50

holy ostriches legs seem to be more in proportion to their large bodies as they are fatter.
BHF the scary thing was I wasn't sure if she was 'ascending' or 'descending'. I haven't worn this dress for about a year and I might have disturbed her nesting site Sad
I wouldn't ever kill any of the things I am scared of though...especially not the people on stilts Grin
