FB ranting!!!

I've just posted a ranting message to all my so called friends and I feel better for it!!!
I've asked them to unfriend me as I am sick and tired of guessing whether they are actually friends or they are just lurking there in my life, passing 'likes' and comments when it suits them and pissing me off!!

I was going to close my FB account but that would have meant I wouldn't have contact with some family members, etc so it seemed better to just request that 'others' take themselves off my friend list for lack of any friendship between us...especially 2/3 of them that I'm pretty sure are just lurking/gossiping anyway...

I'm fed up of the subtle insinuations and insults that seem to fly about, the 'rubbing it in' hidden agenda's and stupid immature 2 faced attitudes...I see it daily on posts and occasionally towards me too and I'm heart sick of it....

Does anyone else feel like this with FB at times...It's seems so easy to become a knock for knock, slagging, nasty place between some people....it's bad I feel and I want no part of it anymore...it's so destructive

From the mesages I read here FB causes a lot of trouble. Of course it's the people using it causing the trouble. Don't be friends with people who annoy you. Or at least block their comments. It seems as if people say things on FB that they wouldn't say in RL. Just have a handful of close family and friends for a while and see how it goes rather than closing your account completely.

sometimes you need to let off steam.. but delete your FB post, and then report this thread..

we all get irrationally irate at times, it happens.. and then we calm down and think ffs, I sound like a loon now... dont worry about it! :)

There is someone on my FB whose posts are the most draining and attention seeking ever known.. it isnt just one outburst like yours, it is a regular update of things like

"well thanks everyone, I have been on here all day and nobody has tried to chat with me."

and

"clearly none of you are my real friends because none of you care about me"

and then a flurry of people rush to give her (((hugs))) Hmm

She blocked someone the other day because he had the temerity to suggest she stop feeling so sorry for herself! Grin

FB isn't for me, I tried and was blocked by the group I was in. No idea why either. Fuck them!

Actually this is the perfect place, sometimes we need the bluntness only anonymous Internet forums can provide. Smile

Now off you go to fix your fb and I hope things get less stressy for you soon. Small comfort but nothing lasts forever and this time next year today will barely register.

soozeedol · 08/07/2012 15:41

deleted my mad fb post...posted small meltdown was now over :)

have unfriended some people and should have done this originally...I think part of me still wanted to hope that they were my friends and didn't intend to be nasty and hurtful....
maybe I wanted to believe people don't deliberately mean to be so hoirrible

seen your update - well done - fxd everyone else was off being busy on a sunday and didn't see it

Pandemoniaa · 08/07/2012 16:06

I feel for you. I've just written a classic FB rant because of some very particular and collective nastiness (not by individual friends, I hasten to add but a group containing what I have come to realise are some rather awful people.

But actually, just writing it was enough. There's no way I was going to feed the egos of the scattering of arseholes it was aimed at by actually releasing my words onto Facebook.

I strongly recommend removing anyone from FB that doesn't, in some way, enhance your life. That way you keep control and don't let something as inconsequential as FB bring you down.

Hownoobrooncoo · 08/07/2012 16:26

FB is only what you let it be. Delete the loons, nasties and boring fuckers or just hide them if you don't want to offend.
