We are hopefully buying a car tomorrow.
We found the car on Tuesday afternoon so dh has had Tuesday late afternoon/evening, Wed, Thurs, Fri to speak to the bank and tell them that we want to go into the branch on sat morning to withdraw a reasonable amount of cash.

So guess who has just been sent down to the local branch before it shuts at 5 with a flea in his ear because he can't get an answer on the mobile number that his personal banker (eh?) gave him.

When I was on the cash you needed at least 24hrs notice to w/draw late amounts of money, which I assume is the case with you if you're buying a car. I suppose if you've got a personal banker they may well ignore bend the rules though.
