To not want dog shit in my skip?

We have a skip in our front drive at the moment as we are having work done. It is pretty full, but over the past few days I have noticed a number of 'foreign objects' appearing. Dog walkers are throwing their shit filled poop bags in! As I said, the skip is pretty full, so they are balancing on top of the debris and greet me everytime I walk in my driveway.

Would it be too much to expect the owner of the dog to carry it home rather than basically throw it in my drive?

How do I get them to stop this (skip will be there for a number of weeks)? I suspect I know who it is. I am tempted to put up a sign telling them to stop!

Eww stick a sign on the skip. Stop dumping you dog poo in my skip!

WhirlyByrd · 05/07/2012 20:24

Sign saying 'we paid to hire this to get rid of OUR shit, not yours. Happy to return it thru your letterbox if yo keep dumping yours here. '

Agrees with WhirlyByrd Good sign!

I hate that when I lock my front gate next door's bloody dog keeps getting in and shitting on my lawn.

WhirlyByrd, I think I'll borrow that sign idea of yours and semi re-word it for my next door neighbour.

I do like the idea of a sign, but the only thing is that our house is near the start of the street into our estate and we get a decent amount of foot traffic....I don't want everyone sniggering at us!

YABU

It is a full skip, presumably it is going to be collected in the near future.

As long as they pick up their dog poo and dispose of it, I think you need to loosen your grip on a rubbish bin....

Keiza · 05/07/2012 20:53

God, I hate dog owners who do stuff like this - it gives every one a bad name.
I pick up after my dog, if he has an accident while walking him & I put it in the appropiate bin provided by the council. I train him to use a corner of our garden & it really annoys me to see dog shit when I'm out with my kids, even worse those that pick up and then leave a lovely package of dog shit hanging in plastic - WHY!!

skipinmyskip · 05/07/2012 20:57

Jenny were it a rubbish bin, I would be less bothered, as they generally have a lid. But as it is everytime I walk up my drive I see bags full of dog shite. As I said in my OP, the skip is going to be there for a number of weeks (prob another 5 or 6). It will be a shit mountain in no time

Jenny - they haven't disposed of it properly though, they have just left it in someone else's drive. The people opposite have had a skip on their drive for months now and I would hate to think of weeks and weeks worth of dog mess in there.
