I mentioned to my OP that I would rather he shave rather than have stubble and he turned around and told me that he would rather I lost weight than look like a cow.

Completely different things and I am really upset about this.

Chuck the bastard out!!!
What an arsehole

Pagwatch · 04/07/2012 17:22

Oh dear lord, why on earth would he be so vile?
Does he say things like that often?

Awful, awful behaviour.

AlmostAHipster · 04/07/2012 17:24

I'd be so upset. What a nasty bastard!

Comesunshine · 04/07/2012 17:25

I am teary and everything and he doesn't see why I am all sobby about it.

OP posts:
FermezLaBouche · 04/07/2012 17:25

NOT an ok comment and any sensible person can see they're entirely different. If you'd commented on something potentially sensitive to him, e.g. "I'd rather you weren't bald," then I could see why he might react like that. Not for this though.
You need to tell him how much that's upset you. :(

Onthebottomwithawomansweekly · 04/07/2012 17:27

Say "Well at least I can go on a diet and lose weight, you will always be an insensitive bastard"

Seriously, I'd say you need to lose about 12 stone (of him)

Dprince · 04/07/2012 17:27

He might be really sensitive about his chin? Maybe.
Its an awful thing to say to you. However it depends on how he took your comment. He may have been genuinely offended too.
Surely this hasn't come out of nowhere, does he do things like this alot.

Dprince · 04/07/2012 17:29

Being over weight isn't like being bald though is it. Unless the OP has a medical condition or is on medication that would effect her weight. Chances are she could lose it. You can't help your hair falling out.
Its still an awful thing to say regardless.

WorraLiberty · 04/07/2012 17:31

How did the 'stubble' conversation came about?

Was it as a dig or part of an argument?

Not that it makes his comment ok of course....just trying to get a 'feel of the circumstance' IYSWIM.

thebody · 04/07/2012 17:39

No excuse but was he attempting a joke? Sounds so wierd. Are you always making remarks about his appearance? Not excusing of course but it sounds like he just snapped.

Icelollycraving · 04/07/2012 17:47

Poor you :(

Pandemoniaa · 04/07/2012 17:53

Stop crying. He's not worth the tears. You could always point out that while you can choose whether or not to lose weight, as a complete arsehole, he doesn't seem to have that luxury.

Noqontrol · 04/07/2012 18:04

He sounds like a twat. Poor you, a completely vile thing to say and absolutely no need for it.

SoleSource · 04/07/2012 18:07

It all depends on how you treat him.

Spuddybean · 04/07/2012 18:08

what a monumental cock. Seriously, i wouldn't be crying i'd be damaging something of his or packing. How long have you been with him?
