That people are doing today!??

I have just been into the village to get a few things...it's muggy yes...a bit uncomfortable but the people flapping their frigging hands in front of their faces are SO annoying yes?

It DOES NOTHING to cool you down...you probably expend more energy with the flappy flappy motion than it takes to sweat a little bit and cool down that way!

I was standing behind a woman at the cash point who paused in her transaction every few seconds to flap flap flap at her face...holding me up!

Then in the shop another woman was flapping away right next to me with her big old elbow coming too close to me.

I am pre menstrual atm but still! Buy a fan and flap with a bit of style ffs...or don't do it at all! It's not very British to show discomfort is it!? Suffer in silence you fools!

I think you're missing a trick here OP. I reckon you should buy a load of this mini battery operated fans, stick them in your handbag and everytime you see someone hand flapping sell them one with a nice mark up :)

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2012 14:17

I can't stand it when women do it to (somehow) stop themselves crying. I blame jennifer Aniston

TheSpokenNerd · 28/06/2012 14:18

Or I could just hold it RIGHT in their face Panda?

Vzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz there you go Madam! Now you won''t have to frigging flap!

Ooh that's what my Mum said Stealth! She said "Ooh it's like those American actors who flap when they're getting an award...like that stops tears!"

ha! come here op (scotland) no need for heat hand flapping where I am. Turn your hands into a brolly tho' and you could be on to a winner...Grin

Tee2072 · 28/06/2012 14:21

You don't flap in front of your eyes to stop the tears. You flap to dry them so your mascara doesn't run. ::nods::

If people are too hot they are welcome to come to Belfast. I am thinking about putting on the heat...

PandaWatch · 28/06/2012 14:24

Yy! Whilst less profitable, I think that would be the more satisfying option TSN Grin

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2012 14:25

oh. Think I'd rather have runny mascara than the silly hand flapping

Tee2072 · 28/06/2012 14:29

I agree, Stealth. Or actually, not, cuz I don't wear make up. Grin

StealthPolarBear · 28/06/2012 14:30

Same

TheSpokenNerd · 28/06/2012 14:31

Me too. As a proper stiff upper lipped Brit, I would simply stand there with the black running down my face and smile ridgidly.

HecateHarshPants · 28/06/2012 16:11

so your mascara doesn't run?

I've just done a melodramatic handflap for you and I have to inform you that it doesn't create much in the way of a breeze Grin
