To think Christmas programs/films should only be shown around Christmas

I've seen that several Christmas films are on/ have been on, on Sky movies in the past few weeks. At the moment Glees Christmas special is on on Sky 1...

I could have sworn that despite the weather it was summer?

So? Should films set at easter only be at easter, films in the spring only in May, and what on earth would we do about films that span months or years?

You could probably try not watching them if it really bothers you.

YABU.

My DD (14), was off school ill on Monday and 'Jingle all the way' was on, which is one of our favourite films, but i don't want to fill the house with DVD's, so rely on it being on television.

I don't get much time off at Christmas, so often miss out on the build up.

I like them and do watch them but if feels odd having Christmas songs in my head when it's nowhere near Christmas

YANBU in my book but then Blush I once sent Nickelodeon an email asking them to please stop showing Christmas cartoons! (It was about February by this time and the DCs kept asking if there was more Christmas - it was driving me demented.)

I'm one of those Christmas crazy people the Humbuggers hate so yes YABU.

I love them. :o

landofmakebelieve · 28/06/2012 14:06

YANBU. I absolutely love Christmas films, with Elf and Santa Who being my favourites Grin but I don't want to watch them in the middle of June as it's just not the same!
Watching them all year round takes away the magic and 'speciall -ness' (fully aware that's not a real word, but you know what I mean!)

we just watched glee christmas its just because its running with the series when it was first shown at christmas we were in the season break but they showed it anyway,

KellyElly · 28/06/2012 14:38

Can you tell my DD this. We have watched Micky's Christmas Carol once a month for the whole year so far Grin

WhiteWidow · 28/06/2012 15:48

I agree! Radio 1 has played Mariah Careys 'All I Want For Christmas' today too! That's all tongue in cheek though because the presenters have a little competition to see who can play it first ha, they do it each year.

It's annoying because at Christmas I don't even see that many Christmas films on? I saw one a week on channel four Christmas just gone. And at Halloween too, there's never anything on.

We usually wait till it's about 40 degrees around here close up the house, turn on the AC and lie about watching Christmas films with lots of snow in them. Somehow it makes me feel less hot and sweaty watching people all cold and snowy Grin
