The school raffle first prize this year is a Wii with the Sonic and Mario at the Olympic games game. My 2 kids wanted to buy £20 each of raffle tickets out of their own money. They are 7 and 9. We had big rows and tears over this and someone has spoken to the PTA who have said that if they receive any more complaints they will limit the tickets. Should I let them blow the money in the hope that they will lose adn learn a valuable life lesson. Any ideas please.

I think I'd suggest that if they're willing to spend £40 on a chance of a wii, then why not club together and buy a second hand one. I've seen them on ebay from £30-£60.

There's a new wii coming out later this year and you can get this bundle from Asda for just over £100. Could you chip in or say you'll patch their savings?
