ASDA Car Park Ticket

Schlumberger · 26/06/2012 17:03

77 yr old MIL took even older friend to Asda. Parked, mooched about, lunch in the cafe, more mooching and spent over £100.

A ticket arrived in post from the co that manages the car park sayignshe had exceeded the 2 hour maximum park time and has to pay a £60 fine. Obviously there is a sign in the car park but she didnt read it or give it a thought. She is very upset and is en route to see the manager of the Asda store.

Does anyone know if the manager will have any sway over the parking company?

I have never heard of a company trying that one!

Cheeky wotsits.

c"mon , do people still fall for that scam?are you going to? DO NOT PAY!!i it is not legally enforceable , and don"t waste time replying to their threatening letters either(unless you want to !)

Noqontrol · 03/07/2012 21:16

So would they send the bailiffs round anyway if the letters were just ignored?

ErikNorseman · 03/07/2012 21:35

They have to go to court before they can send bailiffs round. It rarely gets to go to court as they tend to drop it knowing that they are unlikely to win.
I wouldn't be afraid of going to court, I had a car seat and the ticket they gave me just says 'parked in P&c bay' not 'parked in p&c bay unaccompanied by a child' so totally not enforceable.
