Should I be wearing boden? Im well on my way to becoming a mummy and since entering this realm I hear the word boden several times a day. Will my primarni just not cut it no more?

I am now very afraid of what I have become Blush

I placed my first order with them on Saturday ( I'm on 28 but recently come a mummy!) is there no hope for me?

Pickles77 · 25/06/2012 19:41

Thank you camper & slatternly lol
I think I may stick with my usual attire of tesco sheep adorned pjamas!

It's the bikinis are good thing I was questioning.

I see the crowds heading into primark, I want to believe that I will find a prim ark bargain but I always leave with nowt. And I am brilliant at finding bargains normally

CamperFan · 25/06/2012 19:45

Really, their bikinis are fab - well, they were a few years ago. I haven't been to Primark for at least 18 months. A lot of people have asked where my bikinis are from! I have the odd top from Primark that I've had for about 5 years that people ask about too. Generally it's shite though, I do agree.

Xmasbaby11 · 25/06/2012 19:45

never seen a Boden shop or anyone wearing it, to my knowledge.

monkeymoma · 25/06/2012 19:45

got some miniboden second hand and its okay, not spectacular but fine, not as bad as the adult stuff

CamperFan · 25/06/2012 19:46

My friend works at Boden and she really is the most stylish person I know. And she's a mum.

CamperFan · 25/06/2012 19:47

I don't think there are shops xmas.

MrsBovary · 25/06/2012 19:48

It was always fine for classic items of clothing (avoiding 'funky' and 'fun' patterns) but went downhill in recent years in quality and so I bought very little, just some day clothes for the children.
Was surprised by the aut/win preview, however, a little different from the same-old I was expecting, and ordered a pile of clothes.

Hoping they're up to scratch in terms of quality, and that they've also upped their game with Mini Boden collection when it's released.

I don't know how old you are, but I don't think I'd have worn Boden under age 30!

ChunkyPickle · 25/06/2012 19:52

I'm not too impressed with boden so far - I wouldn't say that the stuff I've bought for DS is of any higher quality that the bits I've got at Asda..

I do have a cashmere cardigan from them that seems OK - but I sent everything else I ordered for myself back as it was all a bit odd and over-priced

IKilledIgglePiggle · 25/06/2012 20:00

Mini Boden is just lovely and washes really well..........but I wouldn't be seen dead in the stuff.

Pickles77 · 25/06/2012 20:09

annaliza I don't want to cause an argument but I was being hypothetical and cheering myself up.
The fact you made that post and linked that thread has really got to me & I don't think it was a very nice thing to do to someone.
I may be being hormonal and you may think I am being UR but I think it's not very nice of you to judge me like that.

You have a Mumsnet stalker Pickles - be flattered Grin

I do think it's really odd when people either link or refer back to previous threads - happened to me recently too!

wrathomum · 25/06/2012 20:45

"sassy", apparently. :o

LaurieFairyCake · 25/06/2012 20:53

I've got lots of Boden and sometimes I hit gold with something and am then pissed off when I can't get another.

horriblefilagain · 25/06/2012 21:00

It's over priced and deeply unflattering, most of the skirts and dresses are cut just below the knee which looks good on the 20 year old size 6 models but noone else.

ifeellove · 25/06/2012 21:05

Boden has it's highs and lows for me

I'm 40, not keen on shopping and a size 16 - the plus side of Boden is that I can order stuff knowing it will fit and flatter.

The lows were ordering a frock which then featured heavily in the last series of Miranda.

wrathomum · 27/06/2012 07:47

There's a shop in Acton.
As HORRIBLEFIL says, designed with very tall, skinny girls in mind.

The uniform of choice for ladies over 40 around here! So frumpy and so obviously Boden

Fedupnagging · 27/06/2012 08:48

What's wrong with white linen trousers? On second thoughts don't enlighten me as my whole summer wardrobe is linen trousers! Slinks away in vair vair unfashionable clobber. Blush

GoEasyPudding · 27/06/2012 09:01

White linen trousers are ok with me! What the heck else should one wear when its summer? Black skinny jeans? Blessed with trunk legs I can't be doing shorts, or skirts!
When the Boden books arrive, I flick through them close to my nose to smell the print as I walk toward the recycle bin...I don't even look inside anymore, its all too pricey.

ceeveebee · 27/06/2012 09:25

Actually their leggings are excellent. Don't like anything with printed patterns though so most of their stuff is not for me

Agree I though that was a shitty thing to do annalize, OP is just having a laff

wordfactory · 27/06/2012 09:27

Can I make a case for their vests. They are seamed under the bust and give a rather spectacular va va voom.

They also retain their shape.
