To be annoyed

I probably am being unreasonable but I'm a bit pissed that DD1 and DD2 have came back from ex MIL with presents and already written and sealed cards to give to teachers for end of term.

I feel this should be my job and a bit ungrateful at being annoyed that they've got the stuff.

So AIBU?

Hmmm. While I don't think this is the crime of the century, it's a parent task IMO. I think the ex-MIL is being a bit overbearing here. She may mean well, but it might be sticking her oar in just becuase she can.

How you handle this is dependant on what you think her reasons are for this. If you think she's being snide, send the gifts back and tell her you've done it already. Thank her for them though, obviously. If you believe she's well meaning, thank her profusely and say while you're very grateful for her help, she really shouldn't put herself to the trouble in the future, as you have it all in hand.
