To stress over a sofa?

I promised a friend who doesn't have internet access that I'd put an ad on London gumtree's freebie section to see if there were any takers for a beautiful John Lewis classic-style 3-seater sofa that she needs to get shot of.

The inevitable has happened; I've been busy mumsnetting overtaken by events and only got round to submitting said ad half an hour ago.

Problem is the sofa has to go tonight.

Any experienced gumtree-ers out there who are willing to predict what my chances are of not having to 'fess up that my tardiness means that a lovely sofa prematurely ends its days on the dump?

Put it on freecycle. It will go like a shot.

^^ agree, get it on freecycle and problem will be solved.

No Chance

If she lives in London, she could just stick it in the front garden with a "free to a good home" sign on it.

If that doesnt work, change the sign to £300, enquire within and go out. It will be gone within half an hour!

Freecycle

I looked at the freecycle site for Lambeth - looks as if it will take me an age to navigate through the joining with no Yahoo appendages or whatever.

O god. Why do I do this to myself?

It wasn't as if I didn't know this a.m that I should have got on to it straightaway.
