to be a bit peed off with companies abusing Local Events listings with, what are basically adverts

I have just reported two - one has listed the event date as all year so that it always appears at the top of the local events listings. Another was a course that started in April, so while it continued until July you could not actually sign up and participate now, so really it is no longer relevant.

These listings prevent genuine one off events being shown on the front page, so whenever the local user is on Talk or other areas of the site, without having to click on the events page.

Tell MNHQ, they're really harsh atm. They'll whup some arses.

YANBU. Our local one always has a redcross first aid course advertised.

MarysBeard · 20/06/2012 15:01

That's one of the ones I've reported, ripsishere.

I wondered about that, whether I was being a bit harsh. Are you where I am?
Do you have the baby races as the next listing?

MarysBeard · 20/06/2012 15:32

No, so I think they must do it in more than one area - even more reason to report.

Ok, did you get a response from HQ? TBH, if that advert went there would be nothing left to do!

MarysBeard · 22/06/2012 17:44

Ours has gone and they e-mailed me to say they had removed it. Yey!

Ooh, I'll crack on and report ours too. There won't be anything left but it is the principal and I am a bloody misery.
