About lie in

i get up with the baby - at the moment she's up around 11, 2, 5am. When she's up at 5 she doesn't settle in her cot again but will doze on & off if you bring her into bed. Then she wakes up again at 6.30 ish & starts the day.

When I had my lie in yesterday, DP was not disturbed by any of the night wakings, & got up at 6.30. He woke me up at 8.45.

We agreed it was his lie in today & I would wake him up at 8 so I could go back to bed for a bit. I left him till 8.30 to be kind, & he didn't get up till 9.30. Now I barely have time to go back to bed as we had an outing planned today.

I am seething. He says he was tired & he's working a long shift tomorrow (true). AIBU?

Well he shouldn't have woken you yesterday. If I had this system, I would want to lie in for as long as I wanted (within reason) when it was my day.

Well yes he was U and you're right to be peeved but unless he makes a habit of it I wouldn't get too het up about it.
Having a small baby is exhausting and its easy to blow small things out of proportion.
What are you doing today? Is it really important or can it be deferred to another weekend when you're all on better form? Could you go to whatever it is later so you all get a nap?

Yanbu. He went back on what you had agreed, have a word with him. I don't think they realise how tough it is getting up in the night. It is also taking me & my dh a while to sort this out!

Having a little baby and Lie Ins can become a war you crave the lie quite right though,
I don't think he should have woke you yesterday you shouldve just slept on I know you are pissed off about this and as another poster said it can be blown out of proportion, next lie in day say to him you will get up yourself and for him not to wake you Smile

Oh my word OP. You get up three times a night every night with baby and he still takes one of the weekend lie ins? You should get both lie ins. No question. He is BU.

GoldenGreen · 17/06/2012 12:04

agree with grobags - if you are the only one up in the night, you get both lie-ins.
