has been Queen Elizabeth 1st of Scotland for the past 60 years, that arrangements are under way for a Jubilee Concert for her Scots subjects at Holyrood Palace, to be followed by a Jubilee service at St Giles' Cathedral.

Prince Philip is going to be up there early July as part of Duke of Edinburgh.

I know cos I'm there too Grin

Does that count?

sassytheFIRST · 06/06/2012 21:20

I think I know what you are saying, but frankly, this is one of those threads in AIBU because it gets more traffic, not cos it fits best there. Your OP is really convoluted.

Am guessing you feel as if Scotland has slipped under the radar? Fair point. I'm from the midlands - guess what? No show in Brum either. For the UK, read LOndon.

UnChartered · 06/06/2012 21:21

she's going to Corby, that's part of Scotland Grin

worrywortisworrying · 06/06/2012 21:23

YABU.

She didn't show up in Pitcairn Island either.

She's 86. She did and does a fab job.

FeakAndWeeble · 06/06/2012 21:25

She didn't come to Margate either Angry

She did come here last summer though. T'was excellent because the council finally shifted their arses and cleared the mounds of stinking, rotting seaweed from the beach for the first time in about five years and all us paupers could finally take the pegs off our noses.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 06/06/2012 21:26

That's not a bad idea, it would be a good excuse to visit the rellies up there in the cold country.

Or, anyone that is in Scotland and actually wants to celebrate could organise their own celebrations as happened in many locations other than London. Or, they could just come to London - it was fab! Grin

Mrsjay · 06/06/2012 21:28

I have -seen-- met the duke of edinburgh at holyrood the boyfriend now husband was getting his gold award, I think she is exhausted but she will be up at balmoral we might see her then

QuinionsRainbow · 06/06/2012 21:40

Before we stray to far off my OP, it was the concept of a "Jolly" for the Scots people along the lines of the recent pageant/concert etc. in London, not a personal appearance.

But anyone could apply for tickets to the concert, so why would there need to be a seperate one in Scotland. It was all held where the queen lives.

Pandygirl · 06/06/2012 22:04

She never came up to Yorkshire either, but then she is quite old, and at least we didn't have to get wet.

TeeAndBiscuits · 06/06/2012 22:05

Wasn't in NI either.

Mrsjay · 06/06/2012 22:07

she past me at a Bus stop earlier this year she was opening a hospital i was standing and she drove past didnt offer a lift though Grin

tinkerbel72 · 06/06/2012 22:08

She's up there half the year at Balmoral!

venusandmars · 06/06/2012 22:16

She's having a service in a cathedral in Glasgow in July, it's just all a bit more low key.

venusandmars · 06/06/2012 22:23

And a lunch that's something to do with the Knights of the Thistle.

No concert, but her visit almost coincides with T in the Park, so maybe that counts Grin
