To take a temporary job as I hate my current job

I am a widow and estranged from my family. I work but desise my job.

Tomorrow I have an interview for a 6 month contract, and I want to take it just to get out of my current job, but the thought of being unemployed with kids scares me if the contract isnt renewed.

Where I live about 100 or so people apply for each vacancy, so it is a risk

It's awful being in a job you hate but...it will be even worse 6 months down the line when you dont have a job at all.

I would stay where you are to be honest and keep looking until you find another permanent job.

So yes YABU if you leave your job for the 6 month one...who's to say you wont hate that too.

It really depends on whether you could manage if the worst happens. So I'd take into account savings, outgoings, debts and suss out what benefits you can claim if you end up unemployed.
