To insist on collecting DD15, nearly 16 (she insists I put that bit in)at 1am rather than letting her get a cab home after a house party?

Collect - you won't be able to sleep anyway til she is safely in.

Also if she's drunk then you want to know about it - not to bollock her but to make sure she's not sick etc

Collect. Lamb dd, you may well be pleased with the collection when your mums there.

theonewiththenoisychild · 01/06/2012 18:19

Collect definitely collect

Sallyingforth · 01/06/2012 18:19

dd1. I'm slightly envious of you.
At your age I insisted on finding my own way home from parties because I was confident and sensible, but I got into some very scary situations.
I couldn't admit it to my parents, but I wished that they had been more insistent on fetching me home.

She's home and rather groggy, and loves me very muchGrin Thank you all!

Book the taxi yourself, they are licensed. If you would get in one it's no different. Obviously don't use an unlicensed mini cab but a proper taxi is perfectly safe.

Pombear your poor son, so he was an adult and you gave him a ludicrously early curfew? How did he have a social life. Did you not trust him at all?

Buntingbunny · 10/06/2012 03:06

I got collected at that age and DD would to.

Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 06:27

As I have no car, taxi.
