Picture this:
We'll be sat on the sofa in complete silence, no tv, not talking or anything.
DP: "What?"
Me: "What?"
DP: "What did you say?"
Me: "Nothing Confused"
DP: "Oh, I thought you said something."
Me: "No Confused"

This is a regular occurance. He always seems to be hearing me speak, even if I haven't made a noise! It's really weird.

Maybe he's a parseltongue and we have snakes living in our walls. Or he's possessed.

I think maybe you are possessed, if you keep talking and not realising you've said anything.

Akermanis · 30/05/2012 17:40

Sounds like the story line of The Sixth Sense, do you see dead people?

SillyBuntingDaddyman · 30/05/2012 17:46

You need a young priest and and old priest, and probably best to put a decorator on standby...

TheCunnyFunt · 30/05/2012 17:55

No I don't see any dead people only stupid people :o

Actually I get this as well but funnily enough at other times he doesn't hear me Confused

Onthebottomwithawomansweekly · 30/05/2012 17:57

Do you talk a lot like me and maybe he's assuming you've probably said something and he's missed it?
(my best friend lost her voice for a week and her DH thought he'd gone deaf...)

TheCunnyFunt · 30/05/2012 17:59

I don't think I talk a lot. Not that I've noticed anyway!

Does he sleepwalk or have night terrors? i ask because my DH does that too and he has terrible sleep walking episodes plus night terrors....the kind where he thinks he is awake but he's not...a la Freddy Krueger.

SoozyWoozy · 30/05/2012 18:04

Maybe he is hoping that you had spoken and is trying to break the silence?

TheCunnyFunt · 30/05/2012 18:22

No he doesn't sleep walk or have night terrors. He has told me to "be careful and don't fall" in his sleep before and also "make sure you tidy it all up" too. But both those were a couple of years ago and he hasn't done it since!

AuntieMaggie · 30/05/2012 18:24

Sounds like what happens in our hoise regularly!

GnocchiNineDoors · 30/05/2012 18:27

My DH talks in his sleep, to the point where I can engage in conversation, but he always ends up waking halfway through and going "ah, shit, I did it again, didn't I?"

I was just listening to Ronan Keating, When you say nothing at all, and one of the lyrics made me laugh. 'Try as I may, I can never explain, what I hear when you don't say a thing' :o
