I went for an internal interview. An outsider got it. Now I feel crap at my job. Apparently it's due to my lack of experience even though I have plenty. I am just hoping to get my foot on the ladder after having kids but clearly I am crap. Apparently I am a very strong candidate but inexperienced. My hunch is taht there's more to it than this. If my employers could see potential they would take a chance on me right?

Be gentle with me and help me see the good side to this. I feel mabe I'm in the wrong job.

Oh Top you are so not crap........the job market is saturated with interviewees at the moment, competition is stiff!

I have to say though, I hate it when they say you are not experienced enough....how can you ever get experienced when no one gives you a chance, that really annoys me, it makes no sense!

Their loss I'm sure - hang on on there and something even better will come along and you will be glad you didnt get this one :)

I'd say it's nothing at all to do with you being crap and everything to do with money!

They'd have to (presumably) give you a pay rise. If they've hired from out side they can reduce the salary.

Or they find you so bloody good at the job you already do they don't want ot hire someone to replace you who might be shit. A back handed compliment but a compliment all the same.
