To ask what the going rate for a weekly cleaner is now?

Threeprinces · 30/05/2012 12:57

Current cleaner is leaving this week as she has now got a full time job.

What do those of you with a cleaner pay per hour? I am likely to need 3 hrs a week.

I am in east of England in a medium sized town, not city centre at all. I'd prefer an individual ather than an agency but it is a good while since I've looked out there.

Thanks for any input.

I pay £10 per hour in the NW

WilsonFrickett · 30/05/2012 13:00

I pay an agency 9.50 and used to pay my own cleaner £8 - Scotland

justabigdisco · 30/05/2012 13:04

Another in NW, £10/hour and she brings all her own cleaning products.

lou2321 · 30/05/2012 13:05

I am South of England and pay £10ph but she uses my cleaning products.

Beanbagz · 30/05/2012 13:07

I'm in Yorkshire and pay £10/hour. I buy all the cleaning products as i wanted to use eco friendly ones.

Thetokengirl · 30/05/2012 13:09

£8.50 in East Midlands, not via an agency. she's not very good though

bibbitybobbitybunny · 30/05/2012 13:09

Are you being unreasonable about what?

Threeprinces · 30/05/2012 13:11

£10 seems reasonable then, didn't expect so much agreement! !

Thank you

Can you believe it. After my reply yesterday, my cleaner came in this morning and said that said that she was putting her rates up - to £15 per hour! Shock

peggyblackett · 31/05/2012 08:37

As 50% payrise request! Is she good beanbagz?

BillyBollyBandy · 31/05/2012 08:39

I pay £8ph in West Mids. Am now concerned I am tight Blush

Beanbagz · 31/05/2012 08:40

No, and she's often texting in sick on the morning which really annoys me. And she has 2-3 weeks off over Christmas when i need her the most.

Might look elsewhere as presumably i could get an agency for that money which would guarantee someone here every week.

DamnBamboo · 31/05/2012 08:42

I need a new cleaner, do they have ads on here where people advertise their services?

DamnBamboo · 31/05/2012 08:42

p.s. I paid my old cleaner £10ph and provided all the products and I live in Herts

idococktailshedoesbeer · 31/05/2012 11:30

We pay £8 an hour too, live in NW. We buy cleaning products.

eurochick · 31/05/2012 11:34

£10ph London.

Nancy66 · 31/05/2012 11:35

In London i pay £10 ph and supply products.

I also give holiday pay

Ithinkitsjustme · 31/05/2012 11:35

I can't afford to pay for a cleaner Envy but round here (South West) £10/ hr is the going rate

ihavequestions · 31/05/2012 11:36

I pay £8 in Bristol. I looked up the average cleaning wage in the area and it was £6.23. She uses my products and is a friend.

FoxSake · 31/05/2012 11:36

£10 in the north

KellyElly · 31/05/2012 12:37

£8 -£10 ph.

Ephiny · 31/05/2012 12:50

£10/hour, and we pay for the products.

And, er, YANBU? Confused

notcitrus · 31/05/2012 12:54

10/hour in London plus materials. That's direct; agencies are more but refuse to do once a fortnight, so if we need a new cleaner we get a one off job and invariably the lass leaves her mobile number or recommends her friend.

zlist · 31/05/2012 13:03

£10/hour + we supply cleaning materials. SW small town.

Threeprinces · 31/05/2012 17:28

Thanks all! I have texted an old cleaner who was good and asked if she has space and what her current rate is. We'll see what she comes back with. I have been paying £35 for 4 hrs (and supplying materials) but to be honest she doesn't do much more than the previous woman did in 2 hrs, so I'd ideally like to cut down to 3hrs.

Beanbagz, £5ph pay rise!! That is ridiculous! What did you say??

Thanks ephiny, I'm glad you think so :)
