To not put a blanket over dd's head in this heat

Ok so I was sat outside Starbucks the other day feeding my 3 month old dd and this woman comes over and tells me that bf in public is disgusting and to put a blanket over dd's head. I told her that I was not going to do that in this heat and that I wasn't going to stay at home 24/7 just because I might offend someone. AIBU not to put a blanket over dd's head?
Just to add that u couldn't see a thing because I have special bf tops and bras

Some people are so funny about it. My DH's sister had a baby at Christmas and won't even breastfeed in front of members of their family . They'll get a shock when I (eventually) have a dc as if I'm able to BF I'm not planning on locking myself away everytime I do!

Haha that blanket over her head comment actually made me lol, I didn't think I was BU either but she gave me the most horrid look when she walked away (to which I happily returned!) my dp's nan always asks me if I want to go somewhere private to feed as well! I'm sick of it, glad I'm not the only one to have thought i'd walked back into the 50's tho lol

If you ask me, the fact that she wasnt bf as a baby has scarred her for life!

Hopefully the next time she's enjoying her caramel macchiato or whatever some kind mn'er will plop a towel over her head. Let her see how easy it is to enjoy a bevy while overheating under a bit of material on the hottest day of the year.
