To think the action for children's ad is terrible

It talks about neglected child called Emily who has never had a birthday party, never invites to parties and never gets to go on a school trip because she's neglected!
In sorry but that isn't neglect, that's because parents can't afford to give to everything.

They did say at the start she is hungry, which is neglectful and in sure they are thinking we can all read between the lines, but seriously, they need to be clear about the neglect they help support, because I cant see anyone parting with cash for a child to have party or go on school trips that mine and plenty of others don't get.

I haven't seen the advert but, based on what you've written, YANBU.

Yes, we might be able to read between the lines, but presumably the children who see the advert and identify with 'Emily' won't.

H'mm, I can't find the one you mean. I found an Emily's story ad, but it isn't the same one, it is Emily saying (paraphrased) "the house was filthy, we were filthy never felt wanted, lucky to have a bath once a fortnight, emotional neglect".
