Have the common decency to take their barking dogs indoors at night, knowing it's roasting hot and most people will have their bedroom windows open. Even those with sleeping babies.
Shut TFU!

YANBU! I hate it too. In fact I hate anyone and everyone who isn't considerate on hot nights. Yes, its a lovely evening and you want to sit out in your garden but you don't have to make a party of it - if you're outside then surely you realise everyone has their windows open?!

(I'd like to add that I'm really not a grumpy git and have no problem with the odd party on a Saturday night, its the mid-week 1am drunken shrieks that make me want to murder someone Grin)

I am a bit grumpy, but so I should be, ds is trying to sleep.
If I can hear their dog then surely they can. Angry

They're probably in the living room at the front of the house with the telly loud enjoying the fact that they can't hear their dog barking!

squeakytoy · 25/05/2012 22:04

Blush hope you are not one of my neighbours then.. as my dog has just gone out, and discovered a fox in the garden, cue much barking and patrolling the grounds to ensure the intruder has gone!

To be fair though, the foxes make a lot more noise, and that goes on all night bloody long.

MarmiteButties · 25/05/2012 22:05

Yanbu, we have the same issue only there are about five dogs all owned by different people who set each other off.
They all seem to live outside as well which is marvellous at 4am.
Bastard owners.

fannyandrews · 26/05/2012 10:50

4am? Um, two words. Environmental health!

YADNBU. Our neighbour's dog wakes up with the sun and lives in the garden next to our (downstairs) bedroom. The past week has been awful :(

maristella · 26/05/2012 12:12

YANBU if I want a decent sleep I have to close my bedroom window Angry

RalphGnu · 26/05/2012 12:15

YANBU.

The arsebadger over the road from us does this every single night. He leaves his dog in the garden between 9-11pm where it yaps constantly. Practically every person on the street has had a go at him about it; his excuse is that it needs the exercise.

Take it for a fucking walk then!

Dogs bark and arsebadgers are arsebadgers but I really despise inconsiderate neighbours. My 2 yr old woke up at the barking last night as we had no choice but to let him sleep with the window open and refused to go back to sleep until 1am. I am Not Impressed.

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/05/2012 12:15

I'd quite like to 'have a word' with the bird (crow/magpie?

RalphGnu · 26/05/2012 12:21

Oh, don't get me started on the birds, Chipping. Angry

ZeldaUpNorth · 26/05/2012 12:40

I hate that a guy over the back lights a fire almost every night and because i hate the smell of smoke, cannot have my window open. Even worse is when he lights it before 6pm and my washing is still out so needs washed again Angry

TerraNotSoFirma · 26/05/2012 12:47

YANBU

The house that backs on to mine, leaves its two rats impersonating dogs yapping for hours on end in their garden.

Dogs should bark when someone comes to your door and that is all.

MarmiteButties · 26/05/2012 15:04

We have been down the environmental health route :( the problem is we only know the exact location of one of the dogs (back to back terraces with yards) the dickhead person who owns the dog at the back of us quietened down after a letter from eh but now all the bloody other dogs are at.
Another 4am start for ds this morning
