WorraLiberty · 24/05/2012 19:29

Is this not normal where you live?

BonkeyMollocks · 24/05/2012 19:30

You need some eggs and a good aim Wink

UnCharteredromaeosaur · 24/05/2012 19:30

this is why parents tell DCs the music is to let them know they've run out Grin

Mrsjay · 24/05/2012 19:31

and i am going to get a chocolate feast or a cornetto mint i think Grin

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 24/05/2012 19:32

Where I used to live the ice cream van sold cigarettes and bread and used to come round at 9pm. And he played music and honked his horn. Wanker.

FeakAndWeeble · 24/05/2012 19:39

I need bread and cigarettes.

Why don't they do this anymore??!

Angry
SillyBeardyDaddyman · 24/05/2012 19:40

You need to move to a scummier area. You've obviously done far too well for yourself Grin

thegreylady · 24/05/2012 19:43

Tell the dc that the ice cream man plays the music to let the children know that he has sold out of ice cream-this worked so well on my dn that [aged 34] she told her dh there was no point in going out to the van as he had no ice cream left!!!!

lynniep · 24/05/2012 19:46

twice a day for us - once at lunchtime where I work (macdaaanalds, macdaaanalds, kentucky fried chicken and a pizza hut), and once at about 7pm (monty python theme tune) which makes it soooo easy to settlle the kids for bed...

LuvileeJubilee · 24/05/2012 19:47

Argghhhhh yes. Just got baby off to sleep, really don't need Match of the Day music blasted out so loud it distorts.

CharltonHairstyle · 24/05/2012 19:49

When DD was a tiny baby I used to loathe the Ice-cream man.

Her nap time coincided with ice-cream van time. Stoopit music Angry

manicbmc · 24/05/2012 19:50

Just hearing 'Strangers in the night' makes me crave a 99 Grin

Debeezandbirds · 24/05/2012 19:56

Massive work conference today in a marquee, hotter than the sun, I have never been so happy to hear the ice cream van pull up. I think you may BU unless I'm alone in hearing the ice cream van and having the music take me back to endless summers and a treat from DM for being good.

NoVeggiesBeforeEggies · 24/05/2012 19:57

You people who get away with the "run out of ice cream" fibs.
How do you get away with it?
Do your children not look out and see the other kids walking away with ice creams?!!

I tried this once with DS.
He looked out and went Hmm "No it hasn't silly mummy, look!"

I unwittingly 'introduced' next doors DD to the ice cream van. Took her and DS over to get one.
Apparently she didn't know what the ice cream van was before Blush her parents must be cursing me!

manicbmc · 24/05/2012 19:58

I used to tell my two that it was the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

simperingsally · 24/05/2012 20:25

omg manicbmc that literally made me gasp! Im 22 and still have an irrational fear of that man!

QOD · 24/05/2012 20:27

My dd is 13 and still thinks he's empty when he plays music

Annunziata · 24/05/2012 20:29

I used to work on a van, god I hated it! The music is ingrained in my psyche...

Deadsouls · 24/05/2012 21:17

I find the music very creepy and ominous

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 24/05/2012 21:26
