AIBU to think that if you put a sign like this in the rear window of your car you may as well have one that says "I am a twat"?

YABU.

neverquitesure · 24/05/2012 17:21

Well I'm not a huge fan of signs in cars in general, but this seems no better/worse than all the other crap out there.

YAB a little U

But only just.

Dropdeadfred · 24/05/2012 17:22

I think you have to be a bit of a twat to get 9 points - the sign just compounds that opinion - yanbu
The law is a reason to stick to the limit - not an unfunny sign

SoupDragon · 24/05/2012 17:23

How can proclaiming the fact that you have driven badly enough to earn 9 points and that is the only reason you are driving within the speed limit possibly not make you a twat?

Personally, I stick to the limit because it's the limit.

I agreed with you soupdragon

TheDetective · 24/05/2012 17:25

Doesn't mean they have 9 points. It might, god forbid, be an ironic joke at all the speeders out there.

Jusy maybe.

Westcountrylovescheese · 24/05/2012 17:28

YANBU except that the sign itself indicates 'twat' so they don't really need a second sign....

Hebiegebies · 24/05/2012 17:29

It might stop the car behind getting so close or make them think twice about overtaking.

School minibus overtook me in the village where the limit is 30. I was doing 30mph already Angry

YABU

SoupDragon · 24/05/2012 17:29

Yes, because putting a sign up saying "I've driven so badly in the past I have 9 points" is funny?

I did have an ironic snigger as he drove through the speed camera a hairsbreadth under 30mph and then sped up though.

"It might stop the car behind getting so close or make them think twice about overtaking."

It just makes me think "You're a shit driver" :o

Signs like that just make me think 'tosser'

sixlostmonkeys · 24/05/2012 17:34

I agree with you soupD - the sign is not funny in any sense. It says to me that the driver will now consider driving properly purely because if he doesn't he will suffer.

Magneto · 24/05/2012 17:36

YANBU 9 points is nothing to boast about. At least it give you a warning to be extra vigilant around that car though because you know the driver is an idiot.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 24/05/2012 18:02

I very much doubt that whoever had the sign does actually have 9 points. More likely they just thought it was funny, or it was a secret Santa gift.

I would find it mildly amusing and not worth bothering to form an opinion on.
