Mumsnet Royalty

Ha, that got you in,didn't it.

AIBU to start a thread to ask everyone who has ever been accused of being Mumsnet Royalty or one of the elite, or one of the populars, or insultingly been accused of being cliquey, quichey, prolific or all the many other insults, to sign in here.

I just want a list to refer to. Cos I reckon there are about a zillion of us, so I just want to prove that it isn't just a few of us who are up their own arses and think the site revolves around them

Whadayathink?

The point is a very good one Maryz. I agree that there are loads and loads of posters who I recognise on MN. There's probably a core group of 50 or so prolific regulars and then probably another 200-300 that I recognise. I do look at user names and often remember them, although I don't necessarily remember what they say (unless it's very controversial).

Meh, i just read through half of this and got bored. Can someone tell me what page the royalty turn up please? I have some intimate advice to offer to HRH Catherine.

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 23/05/2012 23:28

(Excellent post btw Maryz, you always write so beautifully) Wink

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 23/05/2012 23:29

Actually I don't think it needs deleting Maryz. You are making a valid point. And the list making seems to have stopped for now.

I hope you don't think the things I was saying last night on that other thread were me accusing other people of thinking they're famous btw. I was just making an observation about outsiders' perceptions of well known posters.

ItsTimeToBurnThisDiscoDown · 24/05/2012 00:22

I've never been accused of being royalty or anything else (mainly lurk!), but I like coming on here and seeing names I recognise and I like that some posters are friends with each other - isn't that the point of Mumsnet?!

I'll get accused of being a creepy bum lick by someone now! Smile

Talc that is a work of beautyGrin

Most disappointed not to have made the list, as it feels like I live here!

LtEveDallas · 24/05/2012 06:38

Wow. I've never been called Royalty before. I'm not royalty, I'm the annoying cousin that pops in when you've already got something else planned and asks for a cup of tea. Grin

MardyBra · 24/05/2012 08:22

Grinat talc.

BIWI agree you should be on the list but that goes to prove the point that Maryz is making. There are lots and lots of regulars.

FanjoForTheMammasaurus · 24/05/2012 08:23

but the list was actually just people that she had seen being accused of being cliquey or bitchy or royalty, not people she thinks of as "regulars" or anything - if you read the post.

FanjoForTheMammasaurus · 24/05/2012 08:24

only ones that particular poster had actually SEEN getting hassle.

FanjoForTheMammasaurus · 24/05/2012 08:25

hence i am on it..I have had hassle in the past, certainly am not very prolific or regular these days

Trills · 24/05/2012 08:27

YABU, because you are not really asking if you are being unreasonable, you are asking people to sign in, therefore this is not suitable for AIBU.

Hullygully · 24/05/2012 08:34

See?

And Biwi and Hilly and...

I tried to do a list the other day and forgot loads of people. There are bleeding hundreds of regs.

TalcAndTurnips · 24/05/2012 08:39

Agreed, Fanjo - Maryz asked people to sign themselves in if they had suffered accusations of 'Royaltyism' - not to nominate others for a popularity list!

I have never knowingly been undersold been accused of any such perceived offence, so I am not signing in. I am just a heckling bystander lobbing a few veg that are past their best and occasionally yelling "What about the Workers?"

.

.

I have been accused of being a bit odd, though. Some kind posters have expressed concern about what goes on in my brain Confused

Hullygully · 24/05/2012 08:40

I have been accused.

I don't mind tho

And let's be honest, it's not really an insult is it?

It might be intended as such, but really it's a little spurt of feeling-left-out bitterness.
