I'm a crabbit old moo, can't sleep, too hot and up the duff.

And there he is, daring to sleep. And friffing snoring to add insult to injury. Oh brilliant, and now the bird with only one song has arrived outside.

So......can I???

Yes. By only if I can knee the world in the nuts please?

robino · 23/05/2012 05:16

Ooh, sorry. That was most selfish! The snoring, sleeping DP during pregnancy insomnia issue is horrendous, I remember it well.

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/05/2012 05:18

During my pregnancy, I just kept moving more and more pillows and cushions into the bed until there was no room for DH.

McPhee · 23/05/2012 05:20

He has only one third of the bed left, with a body pillow separating us. I'm trying MrsTerry Wink

I wonder what the response would be if a man posted

To knee dw up the c@@t?

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/05/2012 03:13

What? If a man posted to say that he was pregnant and insomniac (it was my first pregnancy symptom) and that his DW was snoring. You know what, if he was pregnant, I would be fine with that post.

AdoraBell · 24/05/2012 03:20

Just do what I do, sometime in the future when you are sleeping like a baby most nights and OH can't sleep. When he says, it was so hot/cold/noisy/silent/ whatever last night, wasn't it? Respond with, don't know darling, I was asleepGrin

Grumpla · 24/05/2012 03:40

Knee the bird in the nuts first, then stuff bird into DPs snoring mouth.

I feel for you OP it's one of the worst things about pregnancy especially as you know you've got years months of broken sleep ahead of you.

Can you bear to get up? I found sometimes that getting up, having a wee, washing face eating a piece of toast helped me to "reset" somehow so I could then get to sleep.

McPhee · 24/05/2012 04:35

Here we are again Hmm

Him snoring, birds singing, me seething Blush

I'm not mobile on my own so I can't even make it downstairs to get something to eat. I've already woken him twice to get me to the loo Blush

This pregnancy is feeling like a life sentence just now.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/05/2012 04:39

Oh I remember that feeling. I can't think of a single thing to say to make it better. Except that I went more than two weeks overdue. At least you probably won't.

McPhee · 24/05/2012 04:46

I'm seeing a consultant on friday because baby is already measuring 5lb 14 at 33 weeks plus I've got too much water. I think the sleeping isn't being helped by me being a bit stressed.

Is that combined with SPD? If so, can I recommend at least trying acupuncture, it really helped me get through my second pregnancy.
Pregnancy insomnia is the pits, but let your dh sleep tonight, then tomorrow (at some point) you can rest while he runs round like a blue bummed fly.

McPhee · 24/05/2012 05:02

Yes, plus tendonitis in both feet Sad caused by me bracing with each step.

fridakahlo · 24/05/2012 05:10

The only thing I will say, is acupuncture would not do any harm and should be helpful with SPD, tendonitis and stress. It cannot hurt to try x

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 24/05/2012 05:19

I am definetly not pregnant and keep waking at 5am because of heat I think.

kickassangel · 24/05/2012 05:25

McPhee you sound positively cheerful considering the circumstances. I think I would be weeping (not so quietly) into my pillow.

GateGipsy · 24/05/2012 06:50

oh god WHAT IS that bird with one song? And does it have to be so loud? Can't it at least put in a few more notes? Friffing (love that word) got me out of bed at 5am this morning.

MrsHelsBels74 · 24/05/2012 07:13

I feel your pain. I'm 22 weeks pg, can't sleep most nights & have to listen to my husband snoring loud enough to wake the dead. I have considered putting a pillow over his head before....do you think a jury would convict? Hmm
