2 dogs have been continuously and i really mean continuously barking outside in one of our nearby neighbours gardens for the past hour since 12am. Woken up pregnant me, woken up dd aged 22 months.

Who let's their dogs out at this time of night to bark for so long?! Quick wee yes. But this is royally taking the piss!

I am tempted to phone police and suggest maybe they have escaped and are lost upset. However I fear a very inconsiderate neighbor has actually let them out to make this racket.

I'm so angry! Fuckinh selfish cunts!

I dont know what the police can do, I have a feeling that noise abatement is a council thing, but I would still ring them to see what they say.

As you said, you could say that you think that they might be lost or whatever.

Sounds like a nightmare.

Could you try a non-emergency number?

Other people have probably phoned as well.

quiplite · 20/05/2012 01:13

Phone the police (non emergency, obviously) and say you're worried about the neighbours' safety as the dogs are barking, it's very unusual, etc. Mention that you're concerned it could be a break-in.

Whatnamethistime · 20/05/2012 01:15

It's 1am on a sun morning - they will be busy as dealing with drunks, fights, dv.

Mulsanne · 20/05/2012 01:18

UABU police have better things to deal with in the early hours. Have a word with your near neighbour in person tomorrow.

Mulsanne · 20/05/2012 01:19

YABU that shoud say Grin

Birdsgottafly · 20/05/2012 01:21

If you're awake anyway could you not just go out and speak to your neighbour?

quitcomplaining · 20/05/2012 01:52

It finally stopped 15 mins ago. Couldn't go out and have a word as dp is out celebrating football win and dd was awake and distressed. Plus we live in a cul de sac so wasn't sure which house it was even coming from!

At last dd is asleep again and I'm now lying wide awake Angry
Inconsiderate people really get my goat!

We had this on a regular basis, if it happens again ring the police as it will be logged as a complaint even if they don't come out. Ring environmental health if it becomes a regular occurance and keep a diary of every time it happens, date and times etc.
