I parked my car just so beautifully this morning into an absolutely tiny space, right in front of a group of people who were clearly watching me...and not one of them clapped me or said 'well done'. Shocking.

Well a belated well done!

DawnOfTheDee · 18/05/2012 10:53

They were probably jealous...Grin

Keep an eye on the front page of your local newspaper.

"Woman parks beautifully in tiny space shocker!" Grin

ginmakesitallok · 18/05/2012 10:54

I once did this too - perfect parallel park into a space just big enough - but only had the kids in the car to share my joy

christmasmum · 18/05/2012 10:55

Thank you, thank you. Honestly it was so good, I had about an inch front and back. Even more pleasing was when I pulled away after dropping ds off, I looked back and someone was trying to get into the vacated space and... Wait for it... Had to give up! Ahhh, it's the small pleasures in life...

First time I drove my huge car into a tiny space I punched the air and high fived DP. Then noticed driving instructor sitting in his car watching while waiting to pick up his ds. He gave a thumbs up.

You deserve oodles of praise. Mark it on your calender so you can celebrate the anniversary next year :o

IAmBooyhoo · 18/05/2012 11:29

they were disappointed you didn't cock it up so they could have a good laugh and rip the piss out of you while watching you try to correct it. you ruined their day you slefish person! Grin

well done christmasmum. i would have congratulated you.

IAmBooyhoo · 18/05/2012 11:32

and BTW i cannot for the life of me do a parallel park. i drive a mazda 6 and i always misjudge the size of the space so i dont even attempt them anymore. i just keep driving round till i find a space i can drive straight into, even if i have to pay for it. my uncle is a driving instructor and i think he would disown me if he knew this.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 18/05/2012 11:51

I would have inwardly cheered you, but not clapped as that would signify astonishment that you managed it and indicated that you couldn't possibly do that particularly tricky manoeuvre each and every time with poise and ease... Grin

Congrats though, at least you had an audience and I bet they were secretly impressed.

hettie · 18/05/2012 13:40

Congrats. I was once watched by a group of builders getting into a tiny space (all curled lips and raised eyebrows). Little did they know that I learnt to park in a 1960's landrover with no power steering. I perfected paralell parking pretty damn quick as it was so knackering to have to do a 2nd attempt! Still, even they ackowledged my superior skills when I stepped out the car!
