DD wakes at the crack of dawn and cries and cries because she's teething.
DS has a dreadful cough and a temperature so no school.
DH rushes out of the house because he has an early meeting while I cancel work this morning.
I take DD to her childminder with poorly DS in tow.
I drive back to the house only to discover that the lock on my car has broken (the day after the batteries run out on my key fob thing). So I can't lock my car.
I drive to Sainsburys to buy a battery for my key fob still with poorly DS in tow.
Change battery. Doesn't work. Fiddle with all of the contacts. It works. Hurrah!
Get DS back into PJs and onto sofa while I send urgent work emails.
DH rings. He's on his way home because I have an interview at 1pm in central London.
DH rings again. He's running late because the Queen's speech is causing mayhem.
I start to get ready for interview. DS comes upstairs and throws up on my feet.
Clean up DS and put him to bed (feeling like the worst mother in the world because I have to get ready).
Email crashes as I try and send the job description to myself.
DS throws up all over the bed. I strip the bed and clean him up.
DH arrives home late (not his fault).
I leave the house and run to the station. All trains cancelled because of signalling problems.
I go to the cab office. They say they won't get me there in time because of the Queen's Speech.
I come home and cancel interview. They are very understanding but can't promise anything re rescheduling.
DS throws up again and blocks the toilet.
Is it too early for a gin and tonic?
