Why does bad luck happen when I give up smoking

It seems like a pattern, I give up for a few days then shit hit the fan, get stressed and want a cigarette.

So far the tumble dryer has packed in, dd starts waking in the night and my son symptoms of Austim are at a high peak.

The reason I want to quit is I want to be healthier and have more money so I can afford to take the kids out.

Why does this happen every time

I expect these kinds of things happen all the time, it's just that you notice them more when you're trying to give up smoking. But at least you'll be able to buy a new tumble dryer sooner with the money you save from not smoking!

The kids pick up on you being stressed, going through withdrawal ?
Selective attention to negatives around u due to stress whilst going through withdrawal
Why does this happen every time ?
Test that out,
Keep trying !!!

Don't need a new tumble it's the belt that is gone, but you are right I think I must be noticing more.

Just tell yourself it's a test - bit like going out for drinks the first time as a non-smoker: you know it's going to be shit for a few hours so either leave early/go to bed/eat chocolate/watch a porn/drink tea basically anything to keep your mind occupied until you fall asleep then the craving will disappear and you'll never have to et through that 'first' again. Don't quit now!!!!

Perhaps the kids are picking up on my negative mood ATM.

Now I am feeling guilty, and if I start again they have been throw this for nothing

The thing is, if you take up smoking again

Your tumble dryer will still be broken

Your DD will still be waking in the night

Your DS will still be showing signs of Autism

But to top it all off, you'll be addicted to nicotine.

Thanks MNers I know you are all right and thanks for taking the time to reply.

My son birthday is coming up and if I can afford to smoke, then he deserves that much wanted bike
