Every bloody night I put her im the cot she strips her bed cpmpletly before going to sleep I remake it while she is in there too many times, I am tempted just to make her do without.

DefiniteMaybe · 07/05/2012 19:59

make it once then leave her to put it how she wants it.

coffeeinbed · 07/05/2012 19:59

or you could get a fitted one.

ARTAF · 07/05/2012 20:00

Put the mattress in a duvet cover and fold the excess under the mattress.

DowagersHump · 07/05/2012 20:01

If she's in a cot, she's a baby presumably, so you're not going to be teaching her any kind of useful lesson Hmm

I had clips that attached to the underside of the cot mattress -virtually impossible to pull off

giraffesCantDonateBoneMarrow · 07/05/2012 20:01

can you get wee clippy things for under mattress?

workshy · 07/05/2012 20:02

gaffer tape on the under side of the mattress -it's how they keep the beds looking nice in shops Grin

MsKittyFane · 07/05/2012 20:03

Mattress in duvet cover good idea ART!

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 07/05/2012 20:05

I use a duvet cover for this very reason. Works like a dream. Do be prepared for a bit of a strop when she realises she can't get it off though. Grin

DeathMetalMum · 07/05/2012 20:12

I can imagine the strop now, duvet cover is a great idea.
Its not to teach her a lesson just CBA remaking it all the time

BumpingFuglies · 07/05/2012 20:17

Strop? How old is she?

MadameChinLegs · 07/05/2012 20:20

She can strip her own bed? Can you send her round to do mine? How old is she?

DeathMetalMum · 07/05/2012 20:21

15 months

OP posts:
MadameChinLegs · 07/05/2012 20:22

I'd definetly go for a duvet cover. Also, is there the possibility that she is messing up the bed as she knows you will come in and fix it?

BumpingFuglies · 07/05/2012 20:24

Sew elastic onto the bottom of the fitted sheet. Don't leave the mattress without a cover, you'll be setting yourself up for more problems! Good luck x

MrsTerryPratchett · 07/05/2012 20:28

Clever girl. Sleep sack?

DeathMetalMum · 07/05/2012 20:47

Has a sleeping bag, yes strips her bed shes also good at unloading the washing machine (even when im filling it up Hmm ) and other houshold chores.
We are in the process of no more bf to sleep so at the monent I'm allready in the room until she is asleep. Off to find some extra duvet covers without any embroidery on

maddening · 07/05/2012 21:08

ooo how are you ending bf to sleep (sorry to hijack) as ds is 15 mths and I would like to do the same - shamelessly seeking tips!

DeathMetalMum · 08/05/2012 07:19

maddening There was a thread on the sleep forum but it seems to have been deleted Confused .
We just switched the routine around a litttle bit, making sure bf wasnt the last thing, it was taking ages nearly two hours sometimes to get her to sleep whilst bf anyway so she was ready for the change (she was also biting me).
Then I just put her in the cot and left her to it while I sit next to her until she falls asleep first couple of nights were hard and she got upset but I was there to comfort her when needed, I actually ended up rocking her but no bf, 3rd or 4th night she fell asleep in the cot by herself without rocking. Were about 2 1/2 weeks on now and still going okay, she just likes a good play in the cot before sleeping.

Sorry found the thread didnt follow exactly but think its pretty adaptable here

oopsi · 08/05/2012 09:56

I used to sew 2 sheets together to make a sack to put the matress in

2rebecca · 08/05/2012 13:09

If she is in a sleeping bag does she need a sheet? I'd just put her to bed and if she messes the bed up then she messes the bed up. Sounds as though you are dragging out bed time with all the faffing around with bed clothes.

maddening · 08/05/2012 15:06

thanks death metal mum :-)
