To wish my dp would text me more while he's away?

dp has gone away with his dad. He has a phone signal there but when I text him he sometimes isnt replying at all and its getting to me, especially as I'm stuck at home still working and doing shitty housework!

Perhaps he's busy? Perhaps he's left his phone wherever he's staying and has gone out? Perhaps he doesn't think the texts need a response?

Given your other thread about not wanting your DH to go to Oktoberfest because of the scantily clad barmaids and his cheating friends, it makes me wonder if either there are trust issues or something which you've not mentioned, or if you're just a bit 'needy' for want of a better word Confused

Rhinosaurus · 06/05/2012 15:22

It would be a bit rude to his dad if your DP was spending all his time texting you. Why not leave the texting and have a phone call later?

McKayz · 06/05/2012 15:23

I agree with Fliss. You either have trust issues or you're very clingy.

IAmBooyhoo · 06/05/2012 15:23

clingy much?

why are you texting him so much? can't you go a few days without being in constant contact?

alphabite · 06/05/2012 15:25

I can't stand it when people need to talk to their partners several times a day. Have some independence and enjoy the freedom and then enjoy it when he gets back too.

It's not his fault you have to work this weekend and do the housework (I presume he helps with the housework when he's home). It sounds like you don't trust him.

ilovesooty · 06/05/2012 15:40

You sound very needy to me as well.

BackforGood · 06/05/2012 15:46

Presumably if he's gone away, then he's either working, partaking in a hobby, or socialising with people there, so I wouldn't expect my partner to be constantly texting me in those circumstances. I would be very offended if someone spending time with me were constantly on the phone too!
Nor can I understand the need to be constantly in touch either. In my world, I would get or send a text if I needed some information about something.

People these days expect everyone to be available INSTANTLY. Why?
