So my friend put a status on fb this morning saying his phone was dead so if anyone needs to contact him then to send a carrier pigeon.

I replied with "well I would send Paul but unfortunately he is no longer able to fly after a terrible accident involving some Ronseal."

I got a confused face.

I forget that not everone is as obsessed with MN as me and obviously has no idea what I'm on about.

YANBU

I nearly refered to DH as DH the other day.

What is this life of which you speak?

Selyna · 06/05/2012 13:42

Love that I named that poor ronsealed pigeon!!

Gruffy · 06/05/2012 14:03

Still giggling about that thread now, I must look like a mad woman on the lookout for tanned pigeons.

I got as far as making a cup of tea before I got enticed back. The search for RL is not going well. Grin

My mate showed her DH a cup that he hadn't washed properly and put back in the cupboard.

I shouted "Leave the bastard!"

All I got in return was a bemused/blank look Grin

I'm always saying to DP 'There was this thread on mumsnet the other day. . . .'
And I always have to stop myself saying DD instead of her name.

I wonder what 'having a life' is really like???

CrispyCod · 06/05/2012 14:30

It's some of the vocabulary I find myself using in RL and getting some funny looks such as ...'fuck of to the far side of fuck, cocklodger and twunt'.

Stellarforstar · 06/05/2012 14:45

I quote MN all the time too, so YANBU. I have also got into the habit of saying yanboo and yaboo under my breath to DP every now and then.

I think he thinks I have developed and addiction!

I quote stuff from Mumsnet but say that a friend said it.

So I sound like I have loads of witty, clever friends and I am not always on Mumsnet Blush
