To love hot drinks

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 12:40

Tea,coffee, hot chocolate, mocha whatever the weather I love them

Coffee is just sooooo good in cold weather and on holiday when it's boiling. Isn't that strange?

Hot drinks are so filling, satisfying and thirst quenching. Especially out of my favourite mug.
So far today I've had two mugs of Yorkshire tea. A delicious nespresso and as dh has taken Ds round to see mil am about to go back to bed with another cuppa and an episode of made in Chelsea on the laptop

Sorry to bore you but I cannot contain my love of hot drinks for another second!!!

Keep your eyes peeled for future exciting posts on my love of mundane things including eBay, toast and butter, my comfy sofa and Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy towels. Ahhhh

YANBU.

AIBU to slightly mistrust people who don't like hot drinks? I always find them very very weird.

PayneIntheArse · 06/05/2012 12:43

:)

Olympia2012 · 06/05/2012 12:44

Enjoy MIC!! I have just discovered it!

Olympia2012 · 06/05/2012 12:45

Salted or unsalted butter by the way?

Sirzy · 06/05/2012 12:47

I have just finished my 3rd coffee of the day, had two teas before them. I don't function without tea and coffee!

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 12:47

Yes yes to the weirdos who don't like them. Forgot to add they MUST be hot!! None of that lukewarm crap. I said extra hot not extra shot dammit

ENormaSnob · 06/05/2012 12:48

Yadnbu

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 12:49

I like either. Salted butter generally but unsalted with jam. You?

OP posts:
Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 12:49

Oh and it must be real butter. No low fat spread

OP posts:
Olympia2012 · 06/05/2012 12:49

Salted! There is a thread on it so thought I would ask!! Grin

ENormaSnob · 06/05/2012 12:51

Salted proper butter and either raspberry seedless, lemon curd or syrup.

Birdsgottafly · 06/05/2012 12:53

YANBU.

I have drank tea continually on holiday, sometimes switching to fruit tea, but still hot and get treated as though i am strange for not wanting a cold drink.

ENormaSnob · 06/05/2012 12:56

I do that too birds.

Sunbed, towel, pool, 40 Celsius and a lovely brew.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 06/05/2012 13:01

I'm with Grumpla. Something odd about an adult who says "no, I don't drink tea or coffee - have you got any squash?"

MarySA · 06/05/2012 13:02

I love hot drinks. They always seem to make things better. I've nearly run out of coffee and was just wondering whether Doug Egberts is an extravagance. I really like it since I tried it at someone's house a couple of years ago. I like freshly ground coffee but can't be bothered doing it myself, but will happily accept other folks. Hope that doesn't sound too selfish and lazy.

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 13:05

Maysa -if you want extravagant coffee get a nespresso machine. The capsules for it need to be ordered online or they sell them at harrods and selfridges. But it is Soooooo good. And so easy to make. I love it

I am one of these people that just doesnt' drink tea or coffee! I have never liked coffee, used to occasionally drink tea but not had a cup in about 4 or 5 years. The only hot drink I have is hot chocolate.

Very occasionally my husband has a cuppa and we have been known to all dunk loads of gingernut biscuits in it!

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 13:22

Purple -get off this thread -it's not for weirdos Wink unless you're here because you secretly want to be converted?

Oh and gingernuts are a waste of appetite! You can't dunk them in my cuppa. Go and get yourself a hobnob

catyloopylou · 06/05/2012 13:23

I don't like tea (normal, herbal or fruit) or coffee. I love the smell of fresh coffee but not the taste. I do have an occasional hot chocolate or hot ribena.

I am not that odd, I don't think. I was just never given tea or coffee as a child and never developed a taste for it and see no reason to force myself to drink it.

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 13:28

Let me guess. The tea and coffee hatred on here are cat lovers? My next thread may be on all the things that are wrong with cats. Their only redeeming feature I'd that they catch mice. Other than that I hate them. Yuck. Put the kettle on someone Wink

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 13:28

Haters not hatred

OP posts:
PurpleKittyKnitting · 06/05/2012 13:33

Well my husband is a cat lover and drinks tea and coffee!

No I don't secretly want to be converted!! :o

I was quite bemused on a recent thread about folks not drinking hot drinks can't be trusted!!

Iwantcandy · 06/05/2012 13:34

I wouldn't say folk who don't drink hot drinks can't be trusted -just that they have to earn the trust

OP posts:
Bumply · 06/05/2012 13:36

I love hot drinks and they have to be HOT.
God knows it must burn my throat, but Luke warm just doesn't taste the same.
I like cats as well.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 06/05/2012 13:41

LOL at having to earn trust!!! :o

My husband and step dad drink stuff virtually from the kettle!!
