AIBU to think this miserable weather is affecting my mood?

I have been feeling really fed up recently. I can't work out why.

Life is pretty good at the moment- I do have some worries but no more than usual. So I should be feeling pretty good. However I feel low and have lost my motivation to do something about it.

I just looked out of the window at yet another grey rainy day and wondered if the weather is making me feel low?

YANBU - me too! I think because it's been like this for so long, it's getting me down. Spring is my favourite time, especially in the garden. I don't like really hot weather so I love crisp sunny mornings and gentle warmth in the day. You're not alone owl

Olympia2012 · 05/05/2012 18:55

I agree!

And it's so cold!! I have just moved to a new house and was soo looking forward to sorting the garden.

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 05/05/2012 18:56

YANBU .
It's affected mine too Sad.

Yanbu

I am constantly cold and pissed off. I hate gardening it the cold and rain so I've lost 2 weeks.

Gardening is the one thing that keeps me able to do my job as I'm trapped in a chair most days.

I am miserable without it. And fat because I'm still comfort eating and can't work it off.

BumpingFuglies · 05/05/2012 19:01

I'm going to be digging around for some motivation tomorrow. I've been great in the house but there are things outside that MUST be done, rain or not. Have you any ideas for motivation owl?

MrsYamada · 05/05/2012 19:01

YANBU, same here.

Euphemia, where did you move from? March was lovely, I moved house around that time too. The lovely weather made me feel so positive. I don't usually feel down because of it, I just think it's this protracted period of grey, rainy and cold weather.

I am fed up of not knowing what to put on in the morning cos by 10am it's pouring and then sunny at lunchtime again.
We had snow hail sun and rain today, planned and abandoned a picnic twice and I got very wet feet.
I haven't been able to get washing dry outside apart from about three times in recent weeks.
I am Fed Up! Angry

owlelf · 05/05/2012 19:18

Me too- I felt so cheerful during the brief sunny spell in March.

I can deal with cold, wet, dark winter- because it's supposed to be that way. But I've had enough now.

I share the disappointment in not being able to enjoy my garden too. We had some lovely tulips which I have hardly seen because its too wet and cold.

I'm struggling for ideas for motivation which is pretty rubbish. Maybe an early night might help?

Well it's autumn where I am and we're finally having some lovely hot, sunny weather, but summer was an unrelenting wet, grey wash-out and it was about the lowest I've ever been (other factors involved too).

I really hope it picks up for you soon and that you're not about to have a repeat of our Southern summer!

Meglet · 05/05/2012 19:32

Yanbu. My garden is a mess, needs cutting and I haven't been able to get out there to sort out the veg patch.

I'm sick to death of the kids being in the house, it's like WW3 at the moment. When they play in the garden it's so calm and I can tidy up and cook in peace.

YANBU

Having said that, this morning when my mood was gloomy because of the rain and cold... I decided to get dressed in wellies and warm wet clothing and go out. We had a fabulous (cold and wet) walk and I managed to put my disappointment at what the weather should be doing out of my head.

I'm still pondering emigrating though. I hate this bloody weather with a vengeance

BumpingFuglies · 05/05/2012 19:55

Ah Toothbrush, that's what I should be doing! Going out in it anyway Smile

WheresMrMonkey · 05/05/2012 20:32

Feel exactly the same, just miserable

hattymattie · 05/05/2012 20:40

I'm in France and can assure you it's crappy here too if that's any consolation. On the one good day we've had I felt so different. Suddenly everything seems OK - also we can go in the garden and are not all closeted in the house getting on each others nearves.

BumpingFuglies · 06/05/2012 08:08

Blue sky this morning! Thought something was wrong with my eyes!
