To be utterly stunned by this woman's tan?

It's unbelievable enough that anyone would put a child in a tanning booth but that issue aside, what on earth would make someone want to tan to this extreme?

I'm a bit Blush that the headline made me Grin, but that aside, I am stunned by the whole thing.

MarieFromStMoritz · 05/05/2012 10:18

I am an absolute [fake] tan addict, but this a whole new level of insanity. Just how much time must she spend on sun beds? Where does she get the money from?

ShellyBoobs · 05/05/2012 10:21

I didn't even notice the headline Blush

I'd been googling for news about the lady who was mauled by a cheetah at a game park, and then spotted this story too.

What made me Hmm was the bit at the end saying Are YOU a tanning addict? Contact blah blah at the sun...
Exploitative bastards.

AKissIsNotAContract · 05/05/2012 10:24

44? She looks about 60

the cheetah story.... and the only thing I thought about that was what sort of husband carries on snapping away while his wife is getting attacked!!!

Birdsgottafly · 05/05/2012 10:29

It is a complusive/obessive disorder that she has, she is as they say, an addict.

I read about this from a different source. A friend of mine who was an addiction counsellor has told me about this, it isn't uncommon to replace one addiction with another.

When she worked with ex drug users they had a 'contract' and on it was kepping a diary of activity. It became apparent that many were using tanning/excercise as a replacment for drugs, so they were not in recovery as thought.

This woman has just gone straight to tanning for her 'fix'.

southeastastra · 05/05/2012 10:30

oh dear Grin

insancerre · 05/05/2012 10:31

Grin at 'whose skin is a mahogany colour'
strange woman

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/05/2012 10:43

Methinks they have out some dark makeup on her as well to make a better story

Morloth · 05/05/2012 10:51

WHY would you get into a a cage with several large predators? Almost as stupid as deliberately burning your skin.

God, people do so seriously weird and stupid shit. Fucking hell.

SuperTressy · 05/05/2012 10:53

She reminds me of one of those brown troll dolls with the white hair from the 1970s.

squeakytoy · 05/05/2012 10:54

she reminds me of Madge off Benidorm! Grin

duckdodgers · 05/05/2012 10:57

Supertressy Grin

Its a really strange uneven brown colour as well isnt it, like she has fell asleep in the sun with a few dozen bars of unwrapped Cadburys Bournville chocolate on her face.

gorionine · 05/05/2012 11:04

It is not just fake tan, it is fake fake tan IMHO
Shock @man taking pictures of his wife being attacked by cheetahs

DonInKillerHeels · 05/05/2012 11:12

She's probably got OCD or some other disorder and we should feel sorry for her.

Morloth · 05/05/2012 11:18

No, I don't think so, I don't feel anything for her except anger if she really did put her daughter in there.

It ifs her skin, America is as we all know a free country, it is her business if she wants to destroy her skin, but she has no right to do it to anyone else.

fatlazymummy · 05/05/2012 14:05

To be fair, there doesn't seem to be any real proof that her daughter was in the actual booth. There were no witnesses. It was still careless if she was playing outside without proper sun block and clothing.
As far as her tan goes it looks absolutely hideous and incredibly aging.

lucyellensmumnamechange · 05/05/2012 14:08

gotta love boot polish, or photo-shop!!

Dropdeadfred · 05/05/2012 14:10

Can you really tan that much?

AdoraBell · 05/05/2012 14:14

That's not a tan, it's a dark mahogany stain.

Poor kid tough, she doesn't stand a chance. I wonder why the woman feels the need to tan constantly? Must be some kind of issue going on there.

lucyellensmumnamechange · 05/05/2012 14:17

My mother is the same colour "mahongany" as this woman, if not darker, she has a medical condition that means that she produces too much melanin. The amount of times people think its ok to ask her where she got her tan from is unbelievable. I usually let them dig for a bit, and then just say "she hasn't been on a sunbed/abroad she has a life threatening medical condition" Its a bit unfair of me really, not to say so but the insisting "well you ddidnt get that tan around here" to "oooh, aren;t you a lovely colour" Hmm grates after a while.

Mayisout · 05/05/2012 14:24

As it's illegal for under 14s to go into booth methinks salon owner and girl's Dad wouldn't dare admit it if she had. They don't mess around with prison sentences in the US.

ZZZenAgain · 05/05/2012 14:26

her skin colour varies a lot according to which photo of her you look at. I don't really know what she looks like. I think a lot of these photos have been touched up to exaggerate it but her skin cannot be in a good state
